I had a little falling out with one of the boys at the job. He's 23, and a real freak of nature. He sits in his idling pickup, and holds a lit Bic up, eyes closed in some weird reverential moment whenever "FreeBird" comes on the classic rock station.
I told him I didn't think that song would've been the hit it became if half the band didn't die in a plane crash.
He's deeply offended, but my bag is more Sabbath and Led Zepplin, more Doors and Priest, more Quiet Riot and AC/DC. I'm not saying Skynerd sucks. There's a nice solo in there. I'm just saying, it ain't all that and then some.
