Reggie Wayne resigned with Colts

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

FOXSports.com reports the Indianapolis Colts just agreed to terms with WR Reggie Wayne on a 6-year deal worth almost $40 million including $13.5 million in bonus money. Wayne's deal makes him the 3rd highest-paid receiver in the league behind Marvin Harrison and Randy Moss. He will not hit free agency on March 3rd and now the Colts still have their franchise tag sitting in their pocket. Will they slap it on Edgerrin James?

How much money can the Colts spend?

Aren't they going to be stuck with substandard defenses and offensive lines now for the next few years?

I believe it is impossible to pay 2 WRs that kind of money and not suffer in some way. WR is NOT that important to the success of a NFL football team.

That is exactly why I would NOT want us to spend scads of money on another WR.

This is a very dumb move by the Colts.

Colts signed Reggie Wayne

I didn't think we'd get him anyways (too expensive), but I thought he'd be the big draw in free agency. This will drive up the cost of free-agent wideouts (as people will overpay for whatever is out there).

Supposedly 6 years, around 40 million.

Edge will be gone, shortly followed by Robert Mathis (major contributors on both sides of the ball).

Colts are gonna be regretting signing him for so long and so much for a #2. They better win it all soon.

I agree 100%. He only had 5 TDs.
I saw this sign posted once, it said, 'blasting zone ahead'. Wow... shouldn't that read: 'Road Closed'? - Brian Regan

Don't forget -- their 3rd WR Brandon Stockley signed a very nice deal last year too...heck, half their cap is on their wideouts -- how can they afford this?
