Matt Hasselbeck is one of the classiest players in NFL!

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Post by Skinsfan55 »

Did you guys hear his pro bowl comments? He was so humble and reserved...

Anyone who thinks he's dirty is still sore he beat us.

Godspeed Matt, and we'll see you in the playoffs, you won't be so lucky next time.

You're basing his classiness off of one interview where he appeared to be "humble and reserved"?

I'm sorry, but the memory of "We want the ball, and we're going to score!" and the memory of him placing the ball in the face of an injured player (and other players. . .) is still too fresh in my memory to call him "one of the classiest players in the NFL!!"

Is it just me, or should class, humility, and character be a consistent trait over long stretches of time? I just don't see it in Hasselbeck.

I'm basing this on the ridiculous statements of others calling him a dirty player.

Hasselbeck is a great leader, a championship caliber QB, a guy who plays until the whistle blows and a guy who I think is a role model for young quarterbacks.

Many people saw this supposed diss to other teams and most people I have seen think it was benign, oh no! Hasselbeck put that ball down! Get out the pitchforks and torches!

I can only hope that Jason Campbell is a player in the Hasselbeck mold, on and off the field.

Id rather Jason be like Peyton if I had to choose. I dont think Matts arrogance/competiveness has changed since "We want the ball...". I think that the aftermatch of the SB was talking. I thought it was a bit sappy personally. lol

How does your perception that people over-reacted to his on-the-field antics plus one interview equate to "Matt Hasselbeck is one of the classiest players in the NFL!"

People may have over-reacted to him putting the ball in the face of defenders (many times, I might add), but that doesn't change the fact that he did it. I also fail to see any reasonable explanation for his "We want the ball and we're going to score!" Excited or not, there's no excuse for that arrogance.

And don't get me wrong. He can be arrogant if he wants--it's a free country. My problem is when he suddenly becomes one of the classiest players in the NFL! without much reason.

Well I'm not biting, unlike some people I have a life and do not have time to bicker back and forth about my opinion and his inablity to accept it.

Some posts are assinine and they just cannot be taken as anything else.

I think I laughed harder the 2nd time I read this. I thought to myself that you were joking, I almost detected some sarcasm... Then I realized that you were being serious and I laughed some more.

I don't actually believe that Matt Hasselbeck is the classiest player in the NFL, I am making a joke of the thread (which is already a joke) that said he was the dirtiest player in the NFL.

Matt Hasselbeck is a pretty good player, a good leader, and has a good head on his shoulders. IMO the people who slam him are just venting about our playoff loss.

The good thing about opinions is that I don't have to give a crap about anyone's, yours included. Let go of this personal grudge you so obviously have against me and move on SF55. From here on out I will NOT answer to anything you post even it's directly posted to me. (LIKE THIS POST) This post was a pathetic attempt to bait me. How many times an hour have you check to see if I responded?? Sad!

Most definitely not directed at you Daniel. You and I have an understanding and even if you thought Hasselbeck was the classiest QB around, I'd respect that opinion. You have earned my respect by the way you carry yourself. I can't say as much for the person who posted this nonsense.

Oh and let's not mention the secrets you cannot tell anyone about watching a game with me so I'd never say those things about you. ;-)

Don't give yourself that much credit, if I cared at all about what you had to say I MIGHT enjoy baiting you and making you look foolish, but you do that to yourself enough as it is.

Anyway, even though it wasn't an attempt to bait you it "worked", way to show some restraint.

Btw, check your tone, this post is in Around the League, not Talking Smack.

I don't believe you have the authority to tell me to check anything. I do not believe anyone gave you the power to control anyone except yourself, this post shows you have problems doing that already.

11 minutes.... that's how long it took you to break your "promise" not to respond to me anymore:

"From here on out I will NOT answer to anything you post even it's directly posted to me. (LIKE THIS POST)"

Wow, remarkable self restraint, along with your vanity (assuming I wrote this post with you in mind is so mind bogglingly self centered I can't even immagine what a person with these qualities would be like in real life!)

Oh, and I don't need authority to remind you of the rules according to the rules I read.

This was included btw: "Take any negative personal stuff to a private message, e-mail or the Talking Smack forum."

Just a friendly reminder.

PS- I'm quick on the response because I'm in the process of having my soul sucked out in an advanced research methods class.

I sincerely hope that this new methodology leads you not only to answer more quickly but with increasing wisdom as well.

If I had not seen older posts, I would say that you are trying to show off. But the catch is that no matter what our credentials might be, our posts are the ones that really speak for each of us in this board.

'55, you're really kicking up some dust around here lately. This is twice now, I've seen you baiting people on topics that you know are near/dear to their hearts.
What gives ?

I'm not baiting people, I'm calling them like I see them.

I know some people are very passionate about Art Monk getting into the Hall of Fame, but go back and read the origional post in the King thread in Hogwash...

Tell me then that I was baiting anyone.

Go ahead, I'll wait.

As far as this goes, I think anyone who has a beef with Matt Hasselbeck just can't get over our loss and is making us look like whiners as a fan base.

They annoy me.

Ahhh, so if people have an opinion, you get to decide why they have that opinion and then pass judgement on them for it.

gotcha. I must have misinterpretted you before.
