Sinorice Moss not Top-10?

Post by VASkin27 »

Not to second guess the guys at THN, but I was just wondering why Sinorice Moss didn't make the top ten ranking for Wide Receivers in a very weak WR draft class. Most of the other rankings I've looked at have him ranked somewhere in the 5-8 range, and going in the second round. He had a great Senior Bowl and is regarded as one of the most sure-handed guys in the draft. I know he lacks big play potential, but as a possession receiver he would be hard to shut down and a great guy to look for while everyone is doubling Santana. I think he'd be great as a #3 receiver, kind of like a faster Brandon Stokley.

If his stock is falling, that could be great. I would love to spend our 2nd rounder on Tapp and pick Moss up in the third or maybe even the fourth. I don't just like him b/c of his skill; it would be a huge story if he ended up being a major contributor along side his brother.

If there's something I missed as to why THN has him ranked so low, please let me in on it.

That's kind of misleading though since he wasn't starting at WR. He was a special teams guy. I think he has a shot to go in the early 2nd round, maybe late first. Who knows these days, the draft is so fickle....every year the NFL learns the lesson that size, Combine time, reps, and Mel Kiper have absolutely NO clue who will be a great player and who will not be.

It would be cool to get Sinorice, and if he is there in the 3rd round, I'm pretty sure we would take him...how could you pass him up there. With our 2nd though we will probably snatch a D-End...I pray Tapp falls that far but I don't count on that.

Simple... He. Is. Not. That. Good.

One of the reasons he is getting so much publicity because Santana.

Did you watch the Senior Bowl? Guess not. He was only head and shoulders above the other wide outs who are 'so-called' ranked higher than him.

We'll see on draft day.

I can't speak for Wingman and they're his rankings.

I can tell you that we're not trying to pick who gets drafted when on draft day... he's judging college talent... and on a lot more than how they did in one game... let alone an all-star game.

If you really want to 'see' who's right about what picks.. you're going to have to wait a lot longer than the draft IMO.

My 2 cents

Wingman's busy trying to get his draft stuff finished so that we can complete the database, but I'm sure he'll be happy to answer why he doesn't have him in HIS top 10 when he sees this.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Did you watch him in the regular season compared to other WRs?

I would have to convince myself to call him Top 15 WR.

why is Moss's little brother NOT in the THN's Top Ten? Because our rankings are based on a college career and not a few good games or even an all-star game. He may get into out top ten but we dont move our rankings around to meet the "flavor of the day" like some of the other sites do. Heck, Kiper's moves up and down just because of things they say in an interview. NOBODY knows who will be great at the next level and everybody has an opinion, based on my research I see Moss as having the tools to be a good reciever but then again I have the tools to be a male gigalo, but it doesnt mean that will happen either.

No way should Sinorice be in the Top-10. As I said in another thread, if he runs a 4.3 at the combine, he might go in the Top-15 - the same goes for Santonio Holmes. There are a few teams that could use either one of them, but the value of a player like Moss varies from team to team to team.

I didn't think Santana was all that good either. Ooops.

Rod Gardner was also "highly" rated in the draft. Now he's just high. I am not knocking the rankings....quite frankly I don't think any of us has watched game film on all 10 of these guys.

Sinorice just seems like he will excell at the next level...he is explosive, has good hands, and is a good special teams player. Good on Teams = equals longevity in the league and a tremendous upside i.e. = Steve Smith, Santana Moss, Randel El, Hines Ward, etc.

IMO, Sinorice should be in the top ten based on his tools. Like Hogster said, he can get open on anyone, catches the ball, and is a threat on special teams. Whats not to like about that? Yeah, he didn't put up big numbers. I think having an inconsistent rookie QB might have had something to do with that.
