Imagine...

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Imagine...

Post by skinz74 »

The Jacksonville Jaguars are going to the playoffs. An 11-4 team, going to the playoffs for the first time since '99. The local news media, etc, is begging fans to buy tickets so that the game will not be blacked-out for the home finale. They need to sell 600 tickets to make that happen. Players are even randomly calling season ticket holders and getting trying to get them fired up...asking them to attend. I couldn't imagine the Redskins sharing a similiar fate. Just wanted those of you who are on the fence occasionally to count your blessings on rooting for an organization that is supported by the fanatics.

For those that are unaware, the Jags threw a tarp over about 5000 seats this year to avoid NFL blackouts this season. (There were more Jag home games on TV this year than any recent year I can remember).
BTW if the JAgs are blacked out then FOX normally will not carry a game in the opposite time slot

Yep... I miss a lot of football down here due to the lack of fan support for a team I don't support

Dang.......sounds like they really screwed up putting a team there in the first place! Maybe they should move them to Los Angelos? I hear that LA was pretty pissed when the Raiders left and a HUGE number of Residents in LA watch nothing but football games on Sunday. If they actually have to black out a playoff game then they should seriously move the team to LA or......even Mexico! Just put the team in a town that likes football.

We like Football here in the Ville.
You know where me and s74 stand then you have the largest number of Steeler fans outside of Pa. Manning and his Maniacs, and the Phins have large a following here. Throw in the fact that the Gators own this part of NE Fla. and the beaches and the Jags just don't measure up. Redskin fans haven't seen a playoff game since 1999 and neither have the Jags but the Skins have always had a huge fan base, the Jaguars were just starting to bill one in the late 90s
