In today's DCRTV.com update:
Redskins Might Leave JFK-FM - 12/24 - Talks between CBS Radio (formerly Infinity) and the Redskins have fallen apart, casting doubt about whether the football team will continue to be on WJFK-FM next season. CBS, which is coming to the end of its five-year $50 million radio broadcast deal, is balking at the ever-escalating price tag for a new broadcast contract. Just recently, CBS passed on an extension of its deal to carry the Baltimore Ravens via WJFK-AM and WQSR. That team is moving to Hearst's 98 Rock (WIYY) and WBAL-AM in 2006. In the DC Post, Paul Farhi speculates that Clear Channel could snap up the Skins in 2006 and air them on SportsTalk 980 (WTEM) and one of its five DC area FMers - perhaps DC101. Or, maybe, Bonneville could put the Skins on a reformatted sports talk Z104, along with baseball's Nationals. There's also talk that the team could return to WMAL, which carried the Skins for four decades. But with ABC selling its radio stations, that's considered doubtful.....
------------
I'd love to see this for two main reasons:
1) Here in Lanham, the signal is awfully weak. Even on a digital tuner, I can't lock in to 106.7 without massive interference from Baltimore's 106.5.
2) If it means the removal of Larry Michael, I'm all for it.
