Fate of the Indianapolis Colts

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Fate of the Indianapolis Colts

Post by Chris Luva Luva »

This needed to be seperate, I wanted to keep the other thread solely for condolences. How do you guys think that this will effect the Colts? Do you think Dungy will return? I dont know if I could if I was him.

Very tough to say. I can not speak for anybody but as for myself, I would keep doing the things that keep my mind busiest. It is very tough though. Everything including football looks so minute and unimportant in the scale of life.

One thing is how Dungy will react: I feel He will be back before the end of the season. Another how the team will react: I expect them to play their hardest with great focus.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

When I 1st heard of the news my initial thought on how the team would fare wasn't optimistic. I kinda felt that the Colts would be distracted by all of this. However I think that Tony will be back. If my Skins dont make it to the big game then Tony will get all of my cheers. Tony reminds me of Gibbs in some ways. He's very passionate, yet reserved, he's a religious man who mentors his players. I think that the players will go all out for him. Although nothing can replace his son I wouldn't want all of his work to be in vain.

Being a believer will help...but I've been told by some of our pastors that losing a child is one of the toughest thing to handle. I have two and they are my world. This is looking more and more like a suicide so you have the added guilt it brings. Didn't this happen to a Packers assitant a few year ago??

This can be a thing that could make Dungy quit coaching...I think it will make him stronger. I think the Colts to a man want to win it for him even more now, and I believe they will.

The media needs to leave Dungy and his family akone!!

I actually think this tragic event will make them stronger. Especially Peyton, he's the kind of guy who will rise from these ashes.

I still see them getting to the Super Bowl

I think the Colts will be fine, this is a terrible loss and very sad news, But i think Tony Dungy will be back with the team for there last regular season game, and have them ready for the playoffs

He absolutely will return. There's nothing so important in the coming weeks as a valid distraction.
Trust me.

I don't see the Colts winning this week's game. The death of Tony's son will be a distraction, but, with Tony outta the loop, his replacement will take a much more conservative approach with the Colts' star players. The team will rally in the playoffs (when Dungy returns), but, until then, I dont see this team firing on all cylinders. If they are as tight-knit off the field as they appear to be on the field, then this will most certainly affect everyone on the team.

This week, the Seahawks will not let up, unfortunately, and they wil win the game vs. the Colts.

Peyton is 2nd in command, seriously though...
I doubt the offense will look too much different if he's in the game.

I'm not sure about the rest of the season but I changed my pick for this w/e to the Seahawks! Simple - they will play to win and the Colts "situation" means they don't need it so bad anymore! Manning may not even finish the 1st qtr!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

That's okay. It happens to the best of us some times, isn't that right, RiC?
