Lets hope Gibbs and staff continue to be aggressive in play calling against the Giants.....many times the Skins have been satisfied to keep game close......

I think the will keep calling plays like they did last week. It gave us a lot of momentum and with Gibbs loving to control momentum. This is right up his alley.

Enough with this "Gibbs is too conservative" stuff! The playcalling this week was the same as it's been almost all season; the only exception was the flea-flicker that went nowhere.

The difference in the game was not playcalling but execution and holding onto the football. The execution in this game was flawless. If you go back and look at the tape of the Arizona game, you will see the same plays, over and over, but the execution was not as smooth, and the result was a bunch of turnovers in the red zone.

So let's hope Gibbs continues to be aggressive with the run and keeps them guessing--a run between the tackles or to the outside? And let's hope the offense continues to execute at a high level.

Clinch,

Be careful. Site Admin may come down on you like he/she did me for my Taylor Jacobs thread. This thread doesn't sound "positive" after our "10 years" of heartache and the time to celebrate....

Be very careful......:-k .

Execution and mistake free football. This phrase could be the tagline for a Joe Gibbs coaching manual.

The fleaflicker was perfect, would have gotten them 20 yeards to bad Brunell messed up a little on the pass, and Taylor Jacobs was trying to catch it. Just keep passin to Moss and Cooley

Agreed. We're in December mode now. As I stated in a thread last week, Joe has been biding his time and will now open up the offense when it counts. I hope to see some of you in Detroit in February!!!!

I think to me that it's obvious, about gibbs style play calling. The running game must work well!!!I hope that losing thomas has not hurt us to bad on the blocking for portis!!!Anyway if the run game works then gibbs will take his shots down field!!!I will be very surprised to see gibbs go conserv-o this late in the season with the playoffs on the line!!!I think the old man has been sand bagging and saving the best for last,go gibbs!!!!

Oh, stop it and grow up! Do you wish to cry a river? Playing victim because you can not READ AND COMPREHEND the carefully worded message written to you from someone that took the time to address it to make a better fan out of you?

It is called perspective and maturity. Live and learn.

To address the subject of the thread: Joe Gibbs knows that these FIVE games of the season are already PLAYOFF games for us. He will prepare as well as he and the staff can. If other games had been EXECUTED as well as yesterday's was, we would be in the playoffs ALREADY.

It is about EXECUTION. We can go overmany games to point out execution mistakes in the past but WHY? The team is focused and on track. Joe will make sure that it stays that way.

Running the flea flicker and executing it properly pays dividends, it A. tells your players that their coaches are not afraid to be unpredictable. B. The defense can be mentally demoralized by seeing an offense have success and fun on a "trickplay". and C. keeps safties from getting nosy.

We weren't all that aggressive last weak, with the exclusion of the flea flicker. Like the Santana Moss screen that we usually run 5 times a game, it wasn't aggressive he just broke it loose. We just had timely and efficient execution all the way around.

Did you hear the Monday Press Conference by Bill Parcels?

He says exactly the opposite: "The Skins were aggressive. They did not let up. We were not mature enough to match them".

That is not aggressive? What else should the Skins do to prove that they played an aggressive and well executed game? Throw 50-yard bombs every single play? I do not think so. But most importantly, none of the coaches involved in the game think so either. And they know better than I do.

The gameplan will have to change because of the opponent, however Joe knows what to do, he's been here before.

My point was that most of the time this year when we were in the Red Zone we seemed to always run on first AND second down even if the first down play gained very little. We seemed satisfied with settling for a Field Goal if the 3rd down pass failed. We all know Portis is not a stud inside the 20. I just think passing twice puts much more pressure on the defense and increases our chances of getting TDs

I think what Bill Parcells meant is that we were physically agressive, and from that we made good plays. Not necessarily that our playcalling was all that agressive. Most of our offensive success was created by the defense whom gave us very good field position (and Mat McBriar) and from there we did our usual calls, we just executed and broke tackles and just played like we wanted it more.
