PLANO, Texas (Nov. 27, 2005) -- Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after police searched his vehicle during a traffic stop, Plano police said.
Irvin, a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for speeding in Irving after being pulled over Nov. 25 for speeding in Plano, the Plano Police Department said. Police spokesman Mike Johnson said he didn't know what kind of paraphernalia was found.
Irvin paid a fine on the speeding ticket and posted bond on the drug paraphernalia possession charge. He was released about an hour after he was pulled over.
Irvin, a member of three Super Bowl championship teams with the Cowboys, retired in July 2000 and works as a studio analyst for ESPN.
An ESPN spokesman had no immediate comment.
In 1996, Irvin pleaded no contest to felony cocaine possession in exchange for four years of deferred probation, a $10,000 fine and dismissal of misdemeanor marijuana possession charges.
Irvin holds Cowboys records for catches (750), receiving yards (11,904) and 100-yard games (47), including a team-record seven in a row in 1991.
some people just never learn...does anyone know if he was on Sunday NFL Countdown today, i didn't get a chance to watch it.

Michael Irvin is caught
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/stor ... ateChanged
Michael Irvin was caught with drugs! I wonder what ESPN will do about this situation when it's all said and done? I personally think ESPN may get fire him and get an ex nfl player or coach to be their analyst.

Uh Huh.
Didn't he claim this "it's not me I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time" crap when he was at a party where there was cocaine?
And then again when he was in apartment with a woman and less than a gram of cocaine?
Now he has a pipe in the car, and "wait, it's not mine. I'm just helping out a friend to throw it away and get it away from my kids and I just forgot to throw it away is all. Honest."

Dangl..a crack pipe?? You would think millionaires would at least snort coke...but crack?? That's a poor person's drug.
I hope its not the truth. It sounds like he's lying, but then again, how can a crackhead have enough wherewithall to work on a TV show like that.
THey should give him a drug test.

Oh My God....this is what Irvin said - ???
Plastic baggies with marijuana residue were found in a Versace sunglasses case along with the pipe. Irvin said he found the items on the friend after patting him down when he arrived at his house in Carrollton, Texas.
I guess he wants us to think he pats down all his guests.....This is hysterical !! What a silly thing to say !!

Thanks for the post SChic! It only goes to show that this idiot is still stupid and makes dumb mistakes. He is also a liar.
Not long ago some here were kind of supporting him for making a remark about our team and how we should be a little grateful. This idiot is a liar and a drug user, NOTHING he says should be taken seriously. We should not allow any posts from the SI bunch of idiots either - these people do not bring anything to the game and it is a waste of space, IMO.
I get my NFL news & views from THN, most of the others do not know what they are talking about. - go Skins.

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Mike Wilbon recently pointed out that only one's "ON THE FIELD" actions are supposed to be considered by HOF voters.
Now, I'm sure that's not what happens, however, so don't be surprised if Irvin gets passed over once more.
