Post by redskingush »

I don't want to give up hope but at 5-5, 2 games out of wild card with 6 left. Start 3-0 then went 2-5 with. If we held on to a few more footballs we could easily be 8-2 right now, but were not. If we were really a good team shouldn't we be better than 5-5? I need some direction here.

Like you said, if we held on to the football we could easily be 8-2.

So if we can hold on the the football for the rest of the year, we can be 11-5.

No, I think we're done this season also. You just can't lose at home to a 3-7 ballclub. That's purely unacceptable.

I understand losing to Tampa, or KC, or Denver away. And I even understand if we lose to a good team at home. But good teams don't lose to bad teams at home.

What's scary to me is that we got outcoached today. Our offensive gameplan was idiotic at best, and it seemed we turned Kerry Collins into Joe Montana in the 3rd/4th quarters.

It's a sad day to be a Skins fan. This was an awful loss.

At least Tampa beat Atlanta, that made me feel better. These were poor losses though, this team really needs to step it up down the home stretch.

Having lived through the lean years, it is HEARTBREAKING to see the Skins losing the last two games ....

I am still hopeful we can pull it together for a run to the WILDCARD and make the PLAYOFFS

Time to give up. Joe Gibbs can't call plays. How do you play that conservatively AT HOME??????????? WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THIS?

It sure hurts to lose to Norv Turner. That's all the proof I need that my Redskins are just a mediocre team right now. I wasn't ready to accept that, but losing to Norv is indisputable evidence.

We have two obvious needs that have to be filled. We need a pass rushing DE. We need a legitimate second WR.

Our playmakers on defense have not made plays this year. Our playmaker on offense has been effectively neutralized the last few games.

From here we need to run the table. It's possible, but . . .

Here's what you do. Continue to cheer for and support your team until someone tells you that you have been eliminated from making the playoffs. Until then, if you are a true Washington Redskins fan, you keep the faith and come back looking for a win.

Thank you.

Blah, blah, blah!!!sorry just frusrated again.Let me ask you a serious question!!!Wouldn't you rather see a team that doesn't turn the ball over, plays with heart and doesn't lose to a 3-6 team at home!!!I sure would(It's called a playoff caliber team and we are not) and I have been living this nightmare for years and I'm sick of it!!!I do have faith that we will be a winning team again but It's going to be next year!!!We have no pass rush or secondary and we suck on the road.Dream all you want to we are not going to the playoffs until we fix some serious problems!!!!

Joe runs a conservative gameplan until he's ahead. That's the way it is. When you're only up by one score, you don't go bananas with the long ball.
That's how he is. He's our coach. Believe me, if he thought he had the long game working, he'd use it in a heartbeat. Something's broke on the offense.

It's not just about the long-ball; it's about not always using two tight-end sets when you're going to run (the offense is just SLIGHTLY less predictable than last year); it's about recognizing the fact Portis is NOT Riggins and should be used off the edges more; it's about using more 3-4 WR sets - it's about a lot of things other teams are doing that we're not.

And I'll have to agree with what's already been said - this season is done, so we might as well start getting Campbell ready for next year.

One thing I constantly think while watching the Redskins. What about using the sprint draw?

I mean a lot of teams like to pass-rush us. We have an explosively fast running back. Seems like we should be running a few more draws to take advantage of the hard pass-rushes, right?

Maybe it's the whole working-for-UPS, rooting at-FedEx-thing that's got you in a tumble. :)
