H.S. sorry after two Eagles promote Christian concert
NEWARK, Del. -- The principal of a public high school apologized to parents for allowing a Christian-themed assembly that featured two Philadelphia Eagles players, saying he was misled about what the presentation would cover.
Principal Emmanuel Caulk of Newark High School wrote in a letter that he expected the talk by players Tra Thomas and Thomas Tapeh to focus on "values, choices and challenges that adolescents face in today's society."
He said promotional material used the name "Tra Thomas Promotional Tour," and he did not know Thomas was founder and spokesman for Athletes United for Christ.
A projection of that organization's logo was shown throughout Tuesday's assembly, and the athletes urged students to attend an upcoming rally and concert at a Philadelphia-area Christian center.
What's wrong with this? I'm so ticked that "freedom of speech" has been twisted into "Don't talk about God." Everyone should have the right to talk about their God, in any forum. It's not discriminatory -- same as a Jewish person talking about God, or a muslim talking about Allah. Guess not though...
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."
Shame on the Principal for not doing his job thoroughly before hand. While I'm glad that a positive message was shared at the school, I think the principal should have done a better job of researching the presentation content. If so many schools had complained, that should have raised some red flags, no?
Oh well.
BTW - I find the parent's reaction to the presentation laughable. You'd think a kid had brought a gun to school and started firing.
Then again, all things should be resolved at the next teacher-led yoga session or "cultural" visit by a buddhist monk.
ohhhhh HS is high school. I thought you were apologizing to Hailskins for something.
RIP 21

my mom is hardcore christian, and has always been against music and dancing. she always told me it was the devil.
now you even see "heavy christian" bands.... WTF is that?? religious people are confused, thats the conclusion i've come to. everyone should just be atheist, and we wouldn't have to worry about crap like this.

Yeah, it actually is an apology. . .I just got the punctuation wrong in the title. It should have read:
H.S.: sorry; after two Eagles, promote Christian concert
An "Eagle" is a drink, and I'm a "heavy Christian" band promoter by trade. Once I do those two quick things, I'll get back to him. The story was something he could read in the meantime. I'm planning on apologizing to HS for what he must think is a confusing career. . .

I heard on Elliot in the Morning the other day, that Satanic Cults don't even really worship Satan anymore. They only worship all of the things you can do when you don't have to worry about heaven v hell.

That makes the horned one upset.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

Yeah, it's puzzling to me as well.
Why should it matter what kind of music it is...? As long as it uplifting to God who cares... Theres people in the Hip hop community how about people that like country, rock etc.. They have different genres for people who like different music...There is nothing wrong with Christian heavy metal.. I myself listen to all kinds of Christian rap, and different christians music... Not everybody has the same taste in music, alot of people are led by God to make music... And also Christian heavy metal is not of the devil, listen to the lyrics... If you are pleasing God with your music then its music to Gods ears.. I suggest that you listen to a band called Eternal Decision they are a christian version of Metallica...Just listen as their heart our crying out to the Jesus.. If anyone in here liked 2pac, check out a Christian rapper MR G REALITY... This guy is off the hook and he sounds just like 2pac, No Joke....These people are led by God by bring people to Jesus...If anyone would like more info I am on myspace here is the link check it out... http://blog.myspace.com/jeremyroyce
Why would people worship Satan anyway? He's a joke.
He went against God and before he could even have another thought in his head... BAM! He's in Hell.
God doesn't play around.
Though I find it very interesting that Lucifer translates roughly into "Light Bringer"... all of course due in part to him tempting Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge.
Anyway, what did these guys say that was so offensive? The principal can go into a school and say the exact same things about philosophy and how you ought to live your live, but all of a sudden a man of the cloth does it and it's cause for alarm? My God... I hate people so much... lol
