Pukes lose Flozell and possibly Crayton

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Ah, today just got a little better. Pukes, it's what's for dinner!
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."

Looks like Crayton could be back in a month. Must be nice to call on Peerless Price to back up a player like Crayton.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.

Very glad to see Adams is out for the year. The Cowboys could end up having one of the worst pairs of offensive tackles in the NFL.

IRVING, Texas - Less than 24 hours after the Cowboys picked up one of their biggest wins of the season, they arguably suffered their biggest loss. And it might be more than one.

But Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells confirmed Monday that Pro Bowl left tackle Flozell Adams has a torn ACL in his knee and will be out for the rest of the season.

That's a huge loss to an offensive line that has been up and down this season. Adams, who is considered one of the top left tackles in the league, was rolled up on in the third quarter from behind and had to be helped off the field. Torrin Tucker replaced Adams at left tackle for the rest of the game.

The NFL trade deadline is 3 p.m. (CDT) on Tuesday, so the Cowboys might have some options to explore with a trade. Parcells said he has yet to decide what contingency play he will use to replace Adams.

"I don't know what we're going to just yet," Parcells said. "We'll see. Flozell was playing pretty good. A little up and down. But that's a tough position to play."

And following the Cowboys' 16-13 overtime win over the Giants on Sunday, there was actually more concern about wide receiver Patrick Crayton's ankle injury than Adams.

Parcells said MRI results did not show a broken bone in Crayton's ankle and there is "small chance" that the wide receiver might be able to return this year.

"I don't really know right now," Parcells said on Monday. "I just found five minutes ago that Crayton might be coming back. But I don't know right now."

Crayton suffered the injury on the first play of overtime after making a first-down catch on the Cowboys' game-winning drive. Crayton has been the third wide receiver and has the second-highest average per catch at 15.2.

But regardless how long Crayton will be out, his injury likely opens the door for veteran Peerless Price, who has been inactive for the last three games.
