Stephen Davis One Game Closer

I would absolutely love to see Big Country get a ring. He deserves it as much as anyone in the game, and he worked for it. He was a backup fullback, backed up Terry Allen, and even Brian Mitchell.
He finally got his shot in 1999 and made the most of it. He is the 3rd leading rusher in franchise history, and set the franchise record with 1,422 yards while playing Marty ball in 2001.
Because Spurrier felt he would be better off with a faster back that demanded less carriers, Danny opted not to attempt to restructure his deal. (I don't want to hear about the 11 million a year B.S... Because he we'n't on to sign a deal for 5 million a season) He told reporters later that he wanted to stay in D.C, and that he would have taken less money. "It was obvious that they no longer wanted my services." He didn't want to move all four of his kids, he wanted to stay in D.C, where he had been his hole career.
In Carolina, he remains the workhorse we remember him as, carrying the rock 318 times, for over a career high of well over 1,400 yards (1444 if memory serves me correctly), averaging 4.5 a pop. He goes to his third playoff game ever and goes for 104 on 26 carries and reaches the endzone. In his 4th playoff game gets just 6 carries before getting hurt in the first, but still manages 88 yards.
Now Gibbs is back, jumbo will be in effect, and we will have an average or good back. Not a great back, that would fit the mold perfectly. Riggo said on the news that Davis reminds him alot of himself, and wouldn't he be great here.
Too bad, snooze ya lose. I'm just saying if it was a perfect world, Trung would be a Ram, Davis would be a Skin, and Gibbs would be listening for the trash truck in a nother two hours. One of those things is true....
