Cowboys' Rookies

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Cowboys' Rookies

Post by curveball »

In case you care how the opposition is looking, here's a breakdown.

Ware (1A)-- Some are comparing him to Lawrence Taylor. Has routinely been the dominant rusher is pratice. Most can't wait to see what he can do.

Spears (1B)-- Injured, was less than overwhelming before the injury. Could best be described as "solid".

Burnett (2) -- Still isn't listed as a "starter". Has some adjustments to make before contributing.

Canty (4)-- Jim Burt claims he's going to be a "star". Already the most disruptive lineman on the team in practice.

Barber (4)-- Has by overshadowed by Tyson Thompson. Would have trouble making the team if he wasn't a fourth round pick.

Beriault (6)-- Incredible so far and has far exceeded anyone's expectations but is stuck behind Roy Williams. He'll make the team but won't see the field.

Ratliff (7)-- Has a chance to make the team, may be pratice squad material.

Pettiti (7) -- Slowed by an ankle injury, may not make the team.

UDFAs

Tyson Thompson -- The practice wonder so far. Claimed to be faster than Newman. May make the team as a KR.

Thomas (Pepper) Johnson -- Parcells started calling him "Pepper" after four sacks in the intrasquad scrimmage. Has an outside shot at making the team due to injuries. Pratice squad material.

Who is saying that Ware is the next LT? You? Other Cowboys fans? His mother?

I'll believe it when I see it.

There is, was and always will be only one Lawrence Taylor.

But thanks for the update curvey.

Are they using the 3-4 a lot at camp?
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Wares your classic workout warrior. He comes into the draft from a small school hoping to be maybe a 3rd or 2nd round pick maybe even as low as round 4-5, then he turns some crazy good forty times and bam he's the next LT. Not gonna happen. Another thing, I heard Canty was supposed to be real good until he had some huge leg injury or something so you guys might have gotten a steal there. Regardless, I hear he's not too durable.

They've been running the 3-4 almost exlusively.

Several former Giants from Parcells' tenure there have been visiting camp and they made the "next LT" comments along with Parcells, not me, I haven't even seen him play except for a few video clips.

I anyone is interested the Dallas/Arizona preseason game, it is on Monday at 7am on the NFL Network.

Two words; Robert McCune.

he is a monster--believe it or not i think he has a good shot at playing a fair amount this season...his raw athleticism just has to have gregg williams drooling--talking about a steal, there you go
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

Hail to the Redskins!
