all of those rush hour drivers in I-495 West this morning and Mapquest for making my commute to the Redskins training camp today a ROYAL PAIN IN THE BUTT!

I woke up this morning at 5:30 a.m. and left my house at 6:15 a.m.. Me and a buddy rode our Harleys down to camp (125 miles one way), figuring we'd get there some time between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.. Boy, were we wrong!

When we got to the Beltway (I495W), it was packed with rush-hour traffic. Stop and go for miles. Frustrating as all hell. Sure, I expected the traffic to be backed up a little...but I (naively) didn't expect it to be THAT bad.

When we finally got off our exit (#45 - VA267) we finally started moving. Then we got to Route 28, we started going north. This is where Mapquest bit me right in the buttocks!

It said go until you get to VA645 West. Well...I rode and rode and rode...nothing. I recalled seeing VA625 10 miles back and I said to my buddy (after pulling over), I bet "that" was the road. We U-turned and, sure enough, it was.

We arrived in training camp at 10:00 a.m., just in time to see 2 plays before practice ended. Then I saw some players sign some autographs.

All was not lost; however, because I (finally) got to meet Bosshog and Taz in person. Also there were Hailskins666 (and Amy), Warmother, Chris Luva Luva, Jake, Skinschic, NC43Hog, and Jansenfan. It was great seeing them and finally meeting a few of them; however, to be candid, I was kinda pissed I wasn't able get there earlier so I would have had the chance to talk with them all longer.

Then....after the long trek home...I plug in my digital camera and, for the first time since owning the thing, it DIDN'T WORK!!! I took several pictures of players signing autographs and we had one great group shot. Nothing.

What a day.

What a day.

Hey, at least I got to meet a bunch of nice folks.

:P

Two more quick things.

I did purchase a 2nd replica jersey today. Now I have one player on offense (Cooley) along with a player on defense that I bought today (Taylor).....to go with my other authentic jerseys: Riggins-#44 and Justice Hog-#20.

Also, at camp, I bought one of those house keys with Redskins logos on them. Brought it home to the local Home Depot to have the key made...and...lo and behold, the type of key is not compatible with my house key...so I was SOL.

My advice to you that want to try to get these house keys: only get them directly from the hardware shop selling them so they can tell you right there if they're compatible or not. Otherwise, you may meet with my same fate.

My friend actually threatened to wear some colors but I told him I'd run him off the road if he did. He's actually staying with me for a month or so (getting divorced and the wife kicked him out) and I figured that since he has a Harley, too, it'd be better riding down with 2 bikes than just by myself.

I have no sympathy. You got to ride your Harley!

Do you know how many days we can do so or drive our convertibles in Canada? VERY FEW. I hope you take Punu on his very kind offer. Good luck in the future.

JH, if your boy was there and Gibbs said that, would he have spoken up?

No. He would have hid like the wimp he is. I would have been laughing out loud right in his face, though.
