I need training camp help...

Post by Chris Luva Luva »

Ok guys I want to attend camp really bad. I doubt that I'll be able to schedule any time off but I may be able to make it back to Baltimore in time for work.

For those who travel I95 frequently, do you think I can make it from camp back to the city within 2 hours? I'd be catching the tail end of rush hour traffic at 6pm right? I have to be to work by 8pm and I work right off of 95 near Ravens stadium.

Man that sucks big time. My coworker was saying that if I leave at 7pm I may be able to sqeak in on time but if I leave at 6 and get caught in traffic then I'm toast.

I have the solution. I know I'm brilliant but why not try one of the morning practices?? I think there is one on Wednesday! ;-)

I will be leaving my house by 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday to make the morning practice by 8:30 a.m.. Should be fun. Looking forward to (finally) meeting Bosshog and anyone else there at camp.

Here's the deal dude, trust me.

Take 70 West from Baltimore to Frederick, MD

From Frederick take 15 South to Leesburg, VA

From Leesburg take the 15 to Rt 7 East, to 28 south, to Waxpool, to Beaumeade (Redskin Park).

Or, once in Leesburg, take 15 to the Toll Road (Airport), and get off at the Loudoun County Parkway exit (straight shot to the Park).

From Frederick to Ashburn it's about 45 minutes...from Balt to Frederick it's 30-45 mins. In all it is better than sitting on 495.

out.

Im definately considering that also, I was really trying to make it for F.A.D.

I could leave straight from work and take a nap in the car until camp starts. Change into some shorts and a t-shirt and then come back home during lunch.

I think they have 2 Wed. practices like that.

I hear that F.A.D. is a zoo, dude. Me, personally, I would avoid it. That's just me, though. Use your own judgment.

Boss told me that same thing, I just wanted to score an autograph or two.

For the trouble its worth I'd probally be better off just trying to attend camp 2-3 times and trying my luck.

If you leave Balt around 6 you might have issues no matter where you are. But 70 West is not as bad as 495 as you probably know. Most people are on 270, not 70, so 70 should be OK. Then, once you get to Frederick it is SMOOTH since you'll be going against traffic...it is all gowing towards Frederick at that hour and you'll be coming from.

I get off of work at 4:30am so I shouldn't have too much trouble early in the morning.

If I go to an evening question and head back to Baltimore in the direction you recommend I'd still be ok as far as traffic is concerned?

FAD, although its a good experience, is def. a zoo...there are soo many people, you def have to get there way early just to get a chance at getting an autograph or something...

just my My 2 cents

I think perhaps with it being on a Friday it may not be quite as bad. It is preventing me from going so it may likely do that for a large number of fans.

You don't really have to get to F.A.D to ensure getting an autograph because NOBODY is going to get autographs until the team goes into the tents to sign them... usually for an hour to an hour and a half. It IS possible to still not get an autograph if you jump into the really long autograph line-ups (Lavar, Gibbs) but other than that... you should get your desired autograph.

Exactly the way I went and had no traffic, just the fact that 607 was closed to get to Redskins Park Drive

So, if I was going to, say, be sick and not be able to work one day soon, what would be a good day to do that? ;)

Thats only if you take the toll road...don't know how or why 607 would be closed (don't even know what 607 is). Maybe there was an accident that day?

If you use the toll road there WILL be blinking signs for Redskin Training Camp, you can take the Loudoun County Pkwy exit and go straight until you see the parking lot.

If you don't take the toll road then from Leesburg take 7 West to Rt. 28, to Waxpool Road, to Loudoun County Parkway (will see signs) and turn right into the Beaumeade Business Park.
