Report: Johnnie Morton signs with 49ers, Chad Morton with Pats ESPN is reporting that both Chad Morton and Johnnie Morton found new teams today.

The San Francisco 49ers signed wide receiver Johnnie Morton to a two year deal and brother Chad agree to a one year deal with the new England Patriots.


Johnnie Morton was cut earlier in June by the Kansas City Chiefs. He was signed by the Chiefs as an unrestricted free agent in 2002. He caught 134 passes for 1,932 years and 8 touchdowns. In 2004, Morton caught 55 passes for 796 yards and 3 TDs.


Chad was a cap casualty of the Washington Redskins. As a restricted free agent, he was signed by the Redskins prior to the 2003 season with a 5 year $8 million deal. He averaged 22.4 yards on 16 kickoff returns and 6.2 yards on 13 punt returns last season for the Redskins prior to damaging a knee ligament against the Packers on October 31st

Good home for both of them! Both teams can really use these guys... Ofcourse Jhonnie better step his game up against those young guys... Niners are due for a stand out reciever..

I smell a big things for Chad in New England. I'd be just our luck that he'll do the things that made us go after him 2 years ago this year for the Pats. Great moves for both teams

I wonder if they're only going to use CMorton as the Special Teamist. Any chance he'll do anything else?
