Redskins Season Simulation

Post by Clinton Portis »

So here we are, fellow skins fans, in the boring month of May. Well, I decided to bring more excitement to the board (as if Word Assiociation didn't do enough  ) Ha, Anyways, here's my full prediction of the season. Feel free to leave comments or questions or whatever.

Imagevs.Image
An uncharacteristically bad day for opening. Its pouring down rain at FedEx. The fans are cheering, even though the rain is pouring down and its only 55 degrees. The Redskins win the coin toss, and elect to recieve. Brown recieves the kick and goes to the 35. Ramsey goes onto the field with the offense, met with cheers of joy from the fans. Calling the play, he places his hands under center and takes the snap.

The Redskins play a tough game against the Bears. Santana Moss surprises with 2TD's. Shawn Springs intercepts Rex Grossman and takes it to the house. However the Bears Manage to make a game out of it, and in the 4th Quarter they lead. However, Ramsey leads the team down the field to the Bears 20 yard line, well in field goal range. He runs the ball several times unsuccesfully, leading to a 3rd and long. Gibbs calls for the deep ball, and Ramsey lofts it to Taylor Jacobs for a Touchdown. TJ smoked R.W Mcquarters earlier in the play.

FINAL: 31-28
Primetime Players: Shawn Springs, Ramsey (3 TD's,1 Pick), Tanaman.

The moons shines through the roof of Texas Stadium on this mild night. Many skins fans attend, much to the displeasure of Jerry Jones in the Luxury Booth. The Redskins this time lose the toss to the Cowboys, and they recieve. The Cowboys returner only makes it to the sixteen yard line because he was stuck by Brian Allen. This would prove to be a game of Special Teams.

The Cowboys go three and out on their first drive, only amounting to negative yards due to sacks. Their punter kicks it up high, and its fielded by Brown. He goes almost into Cowboy territory, but takes a hard hit from one of the ST players. Taking the ball at Midfield, Ramsey throws a few medium passes, leading the Skins to about the 43. He hands off to Portis who breaks a few tackles to the 35, but then FUMBLES. Theres a large pile to find out who came up with it, and its clearly Jon Jansen. However, The Official rules it Cowboys ball. JGibbs loses the challenge.

The game continues on in a neck and neck fashion. Leading to a 17-17 overtime.Dallas marches all the way to the Skins 10 yard line, but they throw an ill advised pass into Carlos Rodgers chest. Carlos returns it all the way back to the other endzone, to be met by the rest of the Defense congratulating him on this come from behind victory.

FINAL OT:23-17

This day at Fedex is normal. Bright sun, no clouds. The fans cheer for the currently 2-0 Redskins. Many people are excited about this season because of the Victory over the Cowboys. However, today the Redskins would not get out so lucky.

The Seahawks won the toss and elected to Recieve. The Rest was History. Maurice Morris returned it all the way to the Redskins 20 yard line. Matt Hasselbeck wasted no time getting to work on Rookie Carlos Rodgers, and Darryl Jackson reached over his head for a touchdown, quickly putting it at 7-0.

The Seahawks ran the ball effectivly with Shaun Alexander, amounting to around 70 yards. Clinton ran for around 90-95. But the score board by the end of half time told a differnt story, 31 to 17. The Redskins attempted to make a comeback, but their attempts were snuffed out, as Marcus Trufant picked off a possible Ramsey TD. The Redskins managed to bring the score close, but close wasnt good enough. They got shot in a shootout.

FINAL: 40-31

Today the Redskins would visit Denver. Yes, the Same Denver Champ went to and Clinton Came From. The Colorado weather was very windy today at Mile High, proving troublesome for kicking and throwing.

Things started off great for the Broncos, even though they didnt recieve. The Skins couldn't seem to get anything done on the ground or in the air. On the Sidelines, Gibbs called DMac's number.Dmac stepped out onto the field, opposite Champ. You could see Champ flash a grin at Darnenian, probaly talking him up about how much more money he was making. Then, the snap came. DMac's feet hit the turf with such speed, you'd swear he'd never been inactive. Champ could only be seen with a surprised look as on 3rd and 15, he was torched by #85, no flags, Touchdown. Darnenian could be heard mocking Champ all the way from the goal post as he handed the ball to the ref.

The Skins and Broncos continued to but heads. But in the 4th Quarter the Skins sealed the game as Carlos Rodgers picked off the Snake twice. The defense registered 4 sacks. The Broncos couldn't score anymore. With the game in his hands,Ramsey made one of the smartest plays ever. He Kneeled. The Game was over.

FINAL: 27-21.

The Redskins had alot of high expectations on them from Pundits and Fans alike. They'd started a nice 3-1 season, and were entering Arrowhead a confident, guided team. However, the Cheifs looked to put an end to their Native cousins from the NFC.

The Cheifs defense did not live up to the hype. They played smart, but they also did dumb things to negate the smart plays. A player had picked off Ramsey, and on the way to the touchdown, fumbled the ball. The Ball was recovered by the Redskins.

Priest and Portis both had alright games, but the real matchup was Ramsey vs. Green. They each lofted 5TD's between each other. However, the KC Defense could not keep up with Speedsters David Patten and Tanaman. As the game closed out, the Redskins won on John Hall's foot.

FINAL:36-33

W

Image vs.Image

Alex Smith looked great in his start at FedEx, but he was the only highlight. Nolan's team was not ready for the Skins.

FINAL:42-17

W

Image@Image

The 5-1 Skins, tied for the top of the Division, would meet with the 3-3 Giants. The Giants got off the a mixed start, but seemed to be on a better track in 2005. Perhaps they were.

The Skins started off on fire. Patrick Ramsey connected with Jacobs and Tanaman for Touchdowns, and Portis had one. Leading 17-0 at Half time, the Redskins were feeling like the best team in the NFL. But Costly mistakes would make this game close. Eli Manning came back into the game with a solid performance, throwing 3 TD's with 2 Picks. With the Third Quarter closing, the Skins trailed 24-28. However, Gibbs team shaped up and cut out the mistakes, letting Portis run down the clock, and letting Tupa and the ST pin them deep. With time running out, Eli threw a pass directly into Shawn Springs range, causing a touchdown.

FINAL: 42-35
W

Imagevs.Image

With T.O finally back on the Squad after missing the first Few weeks, the 6-1 Skins, would meet with the 6-1 Eagles. The Skins came into this game confident in the abilitys of Ramsey and Portis, along with the O-Line. But that would not be anough.

The Eagles started the first two halves by ripping the Skins limb from limb. Donovan Mcnabb had scored 17 points for the Eagles as halftime ended. The Redskins went to the locker room a bit more than dissapointed. But when they came back out, whatever the 64 Year Old HOF coach had said, worked.

The Team didnt give up, and Ramsey flashed Probowl caliber skills as he threw for 2 TD's and no Picks. However, the Eagles proved to be a more dominant team, and with a crucial sack at the end of the 4th, destroyed the Skins hopes of winning.

FINAL:24-18

L

Image@Image

With the Number 6 Ranked Defense (and improving) Defense going into this game. The Skins looked good. They were also 6-2, with a proven starter at almost every position. The Defense had given up crucial points in earlier showdowns, but in this Showdown, they would prove a kicker's leg was the only offense weapon Tampa would have this day.

The Skins repeatedly ran with a combo of Portis,Betts, and Broughton for the first two halves, combining for an amazing 212 yards. The Tampa Defense, now aging and past its glory days, couldn't put up with the Rushing attack and touchdowns to Chris Cooley,Tanaman and Manuel White. The Skins offense averaged over 400 yards against Tampa, and Tampa only managed 3. That of their Kicker.

The Skins impressed on Offense and Defense. Almost Shutting out and Down Tampa.

FINAL: 35-3

W

ImagevsImage

The 7-2 Skins played Oakland on a sunny DC day. They wouldn't walk home from FedEx very happy. As many Skins fans know, the Raiders pillaged a trophy from our case by defeating us in the Superbowl a few years back....and today it didn't seem like much changed.

Kerry Collins looked pretty balanced, throwing 2 TD's between Moss and Porter. The Skins Defense kept it close, making these two TD's the only offensive scores for the Oakland team. A few kicks from Janikowski extended Oaklands lead by the end of the 3rd. The Skins offense could not show up, and even though Ramsey seemed focused, Charles Woodson blocked Moss well, and with Patten out on a broken hand, Jacobs was the only option. Jacobs caught 1 TD. Portis rushed for 1, but Hall missed a crucial field goal, losing the Redskins the ballgame.

FINAL:20-14

L

Imagevs.Image

The Redskins, with their confidence still slightly blown, returned to FedEx to face the Chargers. They were 7-3 now, with a 4th Ranked Defense, and a 12th Ranked Offense. Many mediots were hyping the "Brees vs. Ramsey" competetion, but the game didn't turn out that way. At all.

The San Diego Chargers were 6-4, and were looking for a win to recharge their previous loss. However, this wouldn't happen. The Redskins defense got in Brees face early and often. The Defense caused 6 massive sacks that made it almost impossible for San Diego to get things going. Ramsey did his part, tossing a TD to a newly healed Patten, and one to Portis on a Shovel. The Chargers brought the game within winning, but a fatal Safety of Drew Brees in the endzone ended their hopes.

FINAL:16-10

W

Image@Image

St.Louis is home of the most Depressed People. The Most Diseased people, and also one of the most deterioated football teams in the NFL. The Rams were close to being last in their division, and when the 8-3 Skins came to STL, things werent looking much better.

The Skins Offense put on a brilliant show. Clinton Portis shredded the Rams for 100+ yards and 5 TD's. Ramsey also added 2 of his own touchdowns. The Rams defense also couldnt stop Antonio Brown, who took one to the house late in the 4th Quarter. The Rams managed to score a meer ten points. The Redskins left St.Louis 9-3. And they weren't looking back.

FINAL.49-10.
W

Image@Image

Dennis Green's Cards were finishing near the top of the Division with a strong 8-4 Record, and they were determined to make the playoffs. The Rejuvinated Cards would prove to be troublesome to the Redskins on this Sunday.

Kurt Warner had been an effective starter all year, tossing close to 18 TD's. Sadly, he also had 15 INTS to go with that number. The Skins whole game was to get him under pressure. And they did. The defense managed to generate 5 Sacks on Warner, causing 2 Fumbles, 1 of which lead to a TD. The game played alot closer than some fans might guess, but in the end, the skins came out the victors on a John Hall Field Goal.

FINAL: 21-18

W

Imagevs.Image

It was Noisy at FedEx. Fans Roaring for the 10-3 Skins as they Came out of the Tunnel. Fans nearly foamed at the mouth chanting "WE WANT DALLAS" "WE WANT DALLAS". Dallas came. And They came alot stronger than the first time.

Demarcus Ware. Thats a name thats going to haunt Patrick Ramsey's mind for quite a while. Even though the Skins managed to generate 3 sacks, the Cowboys still sacked Ramsey twice, and one of the hits put him out of the game for 3 plays. With him out of the game, Brunell stepped in and went 9 of 15 for 63 yards, before Ramsey returned to throw a Touchdown and an interception. This interception proved to be costly as it tied the game.

With 1:00 Remaining, the Cowboys valiently marched to the Skins goaline. They pushed with Julius, they Pushed with Barber, they even used Kingcade once. But they could not get it. And knowing Drew Bledsoe's past goal line INT's, they chose not to pass. On fourth and goal, Lamar Marshall would block a Cundiff field goal to end the game. It would be settled in overtime.

Dallas won the Toss, and promptly went to work on the Skins secondary. Suddendly, the Line could not generate any pressure on Bledsoe. Even Daniels (7 Sacks) could'nt reach him due to double team. Needless to say, with the time he needed, Bledsoe picked apart the Skins D, and Cundiff sealed the Victory with a Field Goal of 33 Yards.

Another heartbreaker for the Skins.

FINAL:17-14

L

Imagevs.Image

Dissapointed, but not Surprised, the 10-4 Skins came back to FedEx determined to try even harder than they did the previous week. And whatever Coach Gibbs said, worked once More. Patrick Ramsey led the team, and hit 3 different recievers for TouchDowns. Portis ran for 85 yards, getting him to the 1,400 yard mark for the season.

In this game the Giants attempted to play close, but they could'nt recover for Eli's 2 Fateful INT's in the beginning of the 4th Quarter.

FINAL:35-17

W

Image@ Image

This was the final game of the Season. The 11-4 Skins agaisnt the 12-3 Philly Eagles. Only one team could come out at the top of the NFC, and only one team would finish 12-4.

The Eagles played tough in the Windy Conditions at FedEx. Both teams surprisingly used the ground attack. However when the Redskins went deep, there was a pass interference call on Carlos Rodgers, which put the Eagles at the 20. The Eagles got a quick score out of that drive and never let up. Every where the Skins went, the Eagles were two steps ahead. Donovan Mcnabb had 2 TD passes. Ramsey had 1. It became a nail biter right to the end, but overtime was not to be. David Akers nailed a 55 yarder to but the nail in the Skins Top Seed Dreams. They would have to be second.

FINAL:28-24

L

So thats my theory...Post Comments and or Questions.

So out of ten games, you have us winning 7 of them. That's not bad!
One thing I noticed is that the lowest you think we're going to score is 18. Umm...compared to last year....that would be a great achievement! I don't think we're going to be scoring that many points, even though we did improve our offense a lot over the offseason. I'd be happy if our least number of points throughout the season was 14, but eighteen? I don't know if I am optimistic enough to think that high.
"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."

We won't beat Kansas City or San Diego. We won't beat Dallas. I think we will beat the Raiders.

Their defense is going to be better next year and we know how good their offense is. I think that we could beat San Diego, Philly, Dallas, and the Giants 2x's, Az will be an ot game. I think they are going to supprise people. I think our conference will be our most tough games though.

Your predictions seem a little too Redskins biased

It seems as if we are scoring like 40 pts. every game. I'm praying just for 20.

And all though I'd love to see us winning like 7 out of the first 10, I just don't see that happening. I think we will get better as the season goes on.

I'm hoping for about an 8-8 or 9-7 season... And in the NFC, that means PLAYOFFS!!!

Well, we only put up 40 points against weak defenses in my predictions. :)

I may be a little biased, but this is how I wish the upcoming season would go. The Reason I have us winning the 7 out of the First 10 is because I was watching the 91 Redskins Highlights and man they did really good for the first few weeks. I thought they were gonna go undefeated!

I do not like this prediction. One of my roomates out here is from Seatle so we talk trash to eachother all the time. Nothing was better then when the skins came back and won that game against them a couple of years ago. The only way i could watch games out here was online, so i thought the skins were done at the end and then they came back. That was great.

Sorry i got off topic, but yeah the rest of the prediction looks good. I'd like to see us take one of the games against Philly though.

It makes sense because it's what he WISHES wil happen. Wishful thinking is nice but is not always reality.

I think he has an accurate prediction...whats wrong with being optimistic its not liek were winning every game but were not losing a lot either...i think its going to be 9-7 or 10-6, do you guys really thnik Gibbs will let us have a losing rcord this year?

I had the D giving up more points because they wouldn't be quite as good as last year.(P.S there was only like, 3 High Scoring Games,30 Points+)

Anyways, The high scores arent just for Ramsey, they are also for Portis. So I wasn't making PRam to look like PMann.

Anyways I put hard work (lots of typing) into this, so even if you disagree (which I appreciate the opinions) all I ask is that you enjoy this for what it is, a fun simulation.

Well i beleive the D will be better with Arringotn coming back and if Rogers and prove he can start there goes the Fsmoot problem. And stop and htink a min. and look how many LBs we have that will be competing for the #1 MLB Spot.

As for the offense i see wat you mean that is Ramsey and Portis but still them combined = 7 Tds in Tampa game i mean thats a lil too high.

But yeah im just giving my opinion and i really appreciate you putting the time and effort into writing your prediction of every game
