Bush worse Prez in U.S. history
George Bush is a liar and a moron. Anyone who supports him ought to be served with french dressing in a salad. Recent lies include social security crisis (to draw attention from his own budget crisis, which is ten times worse) and the claim that low ranking terrorist recently caught is third ranking member of Al Queda. He wasn't even on the target list. Also, it turns out that nothing has been done to secure borders against terrorist attack, abortion hasn;t been addressed, U.S. torture of prisoners is spreading rapidly over the globe, Tillman was killed by friendly fire, Bush has been routinely buying off the media, homosexual prostitute/reporter Gannon has visited the white house over 150 times, and adequate funds haven't been provided for Bush's ballhooed education program, for which he continues to take credit. Bush is worse President in U.S. history.

Joe is right! You are entitled to your opinion but as usual crazy horse it has to be an emotional outlash instead of a well directed debate. Oh well! I'll pass on the bait, by the way have you seen todays report on new jobs? Did it say there were a 1/4 of a million?

As a proud member of the armed forces...I think I'll go out on a limb and tell you politely to go felch goats. Isn't it ironic that there are hundreds of people enlisting into the armed forces all over the country daily to fight in a war that you claim no one supports.

I don't neccessarily agree with all of crazyhorses comments but I don't think this administration has been a good one. At least so far. I've never seen an administration that could blatently lie, get caught and then flip it around to point the blame at someone or something else. He has the best speech and statement writers I've ever seen. Our gov't isn't honest about everything but I don't think you could find any form of gov't that is completely honest. It's in the best interests of the people of any nation.
Having the lowest approval ratings in the history of our country is a pretty good indicator of how the people feel. I have mixed feelings about the war in Iraq. While I do support my country and the soldiers who fight for our country I don't think our war in Iraq is just because our intentions to go in the first place were proven wrong. There are various reasons that people don't approve of the war. No WMD's, trying to institute a gov't that doesn't appear to be working, Vietnam Pt. 2, no ties to Al Quieda, etc. Saddam is a bad man and he had to go, I definitely agree with that. But Congress wouldn't approve funding for a war with a country that they believed wasn't a direct threat to us or our allies. The Bush administration cooked up WMD's and the Al Queida links for that reason and that reason alone. Saddam was a tyrant. Not a terrorist. Is Iraq a haven for terrorists? Absolutely, but name habitable portion of the earth that couldn't be a haven for terrorists...
I honestly think the real reasons for the war with Iraq were because of a few things. Saddam took shots at Bush Sr., oil and the essential launch pad in the middle east for our troops and armed forces.
Recruits for the Marines and the Army are the lowest they've been in the last 20 years.
This is undoubtedly the worst adminstration this country has ever seen. But I don't think it's all Bush's fault. It started with a shady election, then 9/11 and then the war. That's a lot to deal with as soon as you enter office. A lot of people want to compare the current administration with the previous one which isn't really fair. A big reason for the job growth and economic stabily during Clinton's administration was because of the internet and technology boom. Clinton had it easy, probably a little too easy.
This administration really comes off as bullies. Who likes a bully? I'm all for fighting terrorism I just don't think the war in Iraq has moved us any closer to end it. No one can see progress. The media doesn't report progress. We all see the rising death toll and fingers are directly pointed at Bush.
As far as what's happening on American soil, I have seen job growth and my standard of living hasn't decreased in the slightest.
Mixed feelings indeed...

I'm not trying to get into a smack type of debate here. A difference in opinion doesn't mean I'm ready to have a swearing battle. Which is usually what the smack forum is all about. I posted my opinions in the lounge because I'm fond of political debates without tearing each others heads off. I have enough friends to do that with.
I'm just looking for someone to try and help me understand the actions of our current administration and justify their reasons. That's it.

easymoney, i wouldn't take ric's comments personally. we've been through this exact thread many times before, and while it may start off being a civil conversation, it usually ends up with people throwing verbal uglies at each other.
i don't think ric was saying that your comments were inflammatory. i think he was just saying that the topic itself has caused quite a ruckus on this board in the past, and, given the tone with which this thread was started (as jpfair pointed out), it's bound to end up in smack.
if you'd like to see what i'm talking about, head back to threads from november of last year. you're bound to find a good one.

I wasn't taking RiC's comments personally but I did think he thought what I wrote was inflammatory. Definitely wasn't trying to do that. I had my fair share of knockdown, dragout debates in Nov. as well. If this subject is taboo... so be it. I wasn't intending on rekindling that kind of fire...
I suppose we should reserve presidential debates for 08? No GWB in 08 though. What will people argue about?

Besides you would not know how much in very deep stuff I would get if I touch this one in any shape, form or fashion. No comment

Ding-ding!
Bush is a terrible president, but is he an Andrew Johnson or a Herbert Hoover?
Bush might be the worst President we've had in years coughreagancough but he's not the worst in history.
Still, he's failed at most everything he's ever tried... except for winning the Presidency, go figure.

"Worst President" is relative to ideology anyway. The political thinkers that I read make a great case for Hoover being horrible, and FDR being worse.
They don't like Bush that much either, and hate Lincoln. Regan doesn't do too poorly in their eyes, and no one could ever beat Thomas Jefferson.
You'll never find a true conservative that really thinks Bill Clinton was a great pres., and likewise with liberals and Bush.
So we've all done a nice job of showing who we like, but in my opinion it doesn't say too much about how good someone truly was, since it's viewed with ideological glasses anyway.
