Rod Gardner

Knowing myself, I would.
But it would be hard to think you are going out the door and still show up for workouts.
I think it would be best career-wise. It might show something to future teams.

Just curious what people thought they would do if they were in his shoes.

I voted yes....if I was Gardner, I'd being asking for forgiveness and begging Gibbs to give me another chance.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

How many "chances" are you willing to give this worthless p.o.s. ??????

He is garbage cut him if we can't trade for him. He can't break a tackle to save his life. I hate him.

After I saw Lavernus get his way I would do the same if he is really that unhappy. Send a message to Gibbs to get out of their.

I voted yes. If he can prove himself to the Redskins, he'll be here for a while. If I was him I'd definitely help clean up the mess rather than not coming to practice and making the wound even larger.

I voted Yes because, if he is true football player...he should want to keep the weight he has left UP!!

He doesn't want to be here. Why would he come to a voluntary progam designed to train Redskins when he doesn't want to be one anymore, and is almost certain not to be?

I voted no. Being granted 'permission to seek a trade' means "get lost".

He should do it... if he doesn't get traded or cut, maybe, hopefully not, but maybe he could earn his way back onto the field. If he does leave the skins, it will look good to whichever team gets him.

No, I'd be in with my agent in his office calling every team I can think of, in order to get a trade underway.

Rod knows his time here is over. He asked for permission to seek a trade. THAT is what he should be focusing on.

I would because it shows commitment. Either to the skins or another team.

I agree. Go to the workouts...even if it's only to "workout." Those workouts must be better than training in a weight room, because he will continuously be honing his football skills (and we all know that he has some skills).

frankcal20's right...another team may be more attracted to work a trade for Gardner if he was committed to the workouts. It's good sportsmanship, and another team will possibly take notice of that sort of attitude - something he needs desperately if he wants a trade so bad.

Right now, he's only depending on his past performances to attract potential suitors? That's not going to get him too far...

I voted No.....
Gardner may not be able to catch but he has seen the writing on the wall.
He and Coles said they wanted out Joe said "SEE YA!" end of story. Luckly there was a market for Coles (the Cap hit was the cost of playing the game)
Gardner KNOWS his days as a Redskin are over even if we have to give him away.
