The trade for #25 overall - Would you have made it?

I'm surprised that nobody has started such a poll by now so I can't help myself. You be the GM.

I said yes, basically because I trust Joe. I'm guessing, but I think they feel the later round prospects are better this year than they will be next year, and we will be able to afford people better this year than next. I also think they feel we will be picking around 25th or later next year. And lastly, I think they feel we won't need to add much next offseason...

I dont like this trade at all. I thought we gave up way too much. I hope we have a really really good plan here.

I voted no based on giving up next year's first..but i would have done the deal under different trade parameters...i.e. This year's 3rd and 6th and next year's 4th.

Hell no. The raiders just got the jets 26th pick for Doug Jolley (a 3rd string TE), a 2nd rounder and 2 6th rounders, for a pick one spot below us. The redskins management has not and i Think will never learn from its past errors.
The AFC west teams( broncos and raiders ) seem to be taking everyone behind the woodshed on trades. I am actually beginning to wish I wasnt a fan because of our damn FO. I think I am actually getting derpressed about this too.

Well, only one thing can cure your pessimism and that's wins. I expect a lot of them this year. I hope that brings you out of your funk...

This would be a good poll to have AFTER draft day. Until we know why we've done what we've done its difficult to judge the merits

I voted no, for now.

Joe might just teach me a lesson and change my mind on Saturday.

The poll question wasn't would you have done the trade, IF YOU KNEW THERE WAS SOME OTHER DEAL IN THE WORKS THAT WOULD MORE THAN MAKE UP FOR A REALLY STUPID TRADE. The question was, would you have traded a 1st, 3rd and 4th for a low 1st in this years draft? I trust Joe too, AS A COACH! His modern day G.M. skills are in question. Will he make up for his GM mistakes by coaching his tail off? Hell yeah! Was this a smart trade? Hell No! Even if they maneuver futher and get some picks back, no other NFL team is going to give them that much value in return. This is akin to running out of money in Vegas and borrowing from a loan shark so you can stay at the table. It is going to catch up eventually. This is Joe and Dan gambling on this season and to hell with the future. I hope it works but it hasn't in the past. All that said, I trust in Joe as a coach and hope he can work it out.

Would I have voted for the trade? NO. However, I truly believe this is the first step preceding a major trade on Saturday. Fire up the grill and tap the keg, boys. It's gonna be a wild ride.

YES, but I would have waited until Friday or during the draft....I think we showed our hand to the other players at the table.

The suspense is killing me.

I am all for a trade up for Edwards.

It would be great if we could land a top corner back AND a bigger WR (White).

It is looking like Sean Taylor is showing his true colors. "I need time away from football" while the REST of the team is practicing together. Tick tock, tick tock....get your butt in gear or ship his butt out for picks in 2006. One thing is for sure, if his attitude continues like this he will NEVER be a top safety in the NFL....he couldn't hold Reed's jock, let alone Williams'.

There's more talent this year, less cap next year. I like this trade.

If we can take the cap hit, which I'm not sure if we can, that might be a great idea oafsup. Guess we'll see what the kid does by training camp though. Wouldn't it be nice if these players just enjoyed their huge paychecks and just came to win?
