Freddie wants out

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

He is attending that business seminar. . .

Some of the other NFL players participating in the workshops include running back Ahman Green, safety Brian Dawkins, quarterback Drew Brees, linebackers Sam Cowart and Dhani Jones, defensive ends Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, N.D. Kalu and Lance Johnstone, cornerback Bobby Taylor and wide receiver Freddie Mitchell.

Maybe he's thinking of changing careers. . .

Found this quote on Freddie/Eagles/Reid...

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Eagles head coach Andy Reid failed to provide Freddie Mitchell any assurance that he would return to the team in 2005. "He's here right now," Reid said. "Freddie likes to talk. It's not a secret. Freddie likes to talk, and he talked too much. Did I like it? No."

I've been around a long time and this quote absolutely indicates to me - Freddie is gone from Philly.

OK, calling GF for an opinion here!

Is it poor taste to start singing the Curtis Mayfield song from "Superfly"..."Freddie's Dead"? Or at least humming it?

Uh huh...
Freddie's dead.
That's what I said...
Let the man rap a plan; 'said he'd send him home.
But his hope was a rope, and he should have known.
It's hard to understand; there was love in this man.
I'm sure all would agree, that his misery,
was his woman and things.
Now Freddie's dead.
That's what I said...
Everybody's misused him; ripped him off and abused him.
Another junkie playin'; pushin' dope for the man.
A terrible blow, but that's how it go...
Freddie's on the corner now... if you wanna be a junkie, wow...
Remember, Freddie's dead...
We're all built up with progress,
but sometimes I must confess,
we can deal with rockets and dreams,
but reality... what does it mean? Ain't nothing said.
'cause Freddie's dead.
Hey, hey...
Love, love...
Hey, hey...
Yeah, yeah...
Huh huh...

Curtis Mayfield rocks.

THE NEWS

Freddie Mitchell's mouth might cost him his spot on the Eagles' roster. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the team is likely release or trade the veteran wideout before their first minicamp on April 29. Mitchell has drawn the ire of teammates, coaches, and fans for some of the self-promoting comments he's made since the team selected him in the first round of the 2001 draft. In four years with the Eagles, Mitchell has 90 receptions for 1,263 yards and five touchdowns.

OUR VIEW

Mitchell's numbers are actually pretty solid. Wait, those are his four-year numbers and not a single-season total? Please excuse us for a moment while we laugh uncontrollably. Okay, we're better now. If the Eagles are serious about unloading Freddie, then we won't be surprised if they they acquire a wideout via their first-round draft pick later this month.

www.fanball.com
What about trading him for Rod Gardner straight up? I know....the Eagles wouldn't be too happy to agree...but I do have to say that Freddie is better than 50/50.
I hate to say it, but I kind of like Freddie's attitude. He's a talker....if he can back it up...it should be fun having someone on the team like him AS LONG AS HE DOES NOT CREATE PROBLEMS WITH THE TEAM. (Like missing offseason workouts)

cough.....SMoss.....cough.....
"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."

He's already proven he's unable to beat out Thrash on the depth chart, so I'd like to see him as a Skin.

.if he can back it up

And he hasn't.

As bad as Gardner has been, Freddie has been worse. How low can he go? He makes Pinkston look good???
