So...Patriots VS. Redskins...who wins?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

So...Patriots VS. Redskins...who wins?

Post by Clinton Portis »

(PS: I didn't know if this should go in Hog Wash or ATL, just because the Pats were involved...and so was the Superbowl, I put it here just in case, I hope thats alright.)

If the Skins were there instead of the Eagles, who would win? Us or the Pats?

Gimme some scores and what would happen, just like a real game.

Mine:

Skins 24
Patriots 21

The Patriots are winning at the end of the 3rd Quarter by 14 to 21. As the fourth quarter starts, Viniteri kicks off and it is recieved by Antonio Brown. He goes all the way to the Pats 10, and then is stripped! However the fumble is recovered and the score is tide. The clock now ticks down to about 54 seconds, and its the skins ball. Patrick stands in the pocket on 3rd and 16, and makes a pass, its intercepted by Rodney Harrison, but he's stripped of the ball, and we recover. With 10 seconds left, Jeff Chandler's kick is almost blocked, but slides in on the left upright, and the skins win!!!!

 Thats mine.

Redskins win.

(Written at end of 1st half...hindsight is the best!)

The Patriots are having trouble with the Eagles defense, and the Redskins defense is better.

Ramsey, having improved in each of the playoff games, boosted by an extra week of preparation, plays a careful game. He makes no mistakes, does none of the Donovan McNabb one-man heroics.

Redskins 17, Patriots 10.

The Pats would kill us by 20+ points...if we played them with this year's squad. Next year's squad, ask me later.

We beat them in 2003 with our less than stellar D and Spurriers No Fun & Gun, and they had alot of the same personel as they do now...with the exception of Dillion.... I think our improved team of this year or next year could have atleast hung with them.... if not beat them...

The Pats had 9 starters out that game and we barely beat them. But we beat them nevertheless.

I don't remember who was there starters and who was not... but this is there list of players who did not play or who were inactive:

QB 19 D.Huard, T 76 B.Gorin QB#3 6 R.Davey, FB 44 F.McCrary, LB 50 M.Vrabel, LB 52 T.Johnson, C 65 D.Woody, T 70 A.Klemm, WR 86 D.Patten, NT 92 T.Washington

Washington, Vrabel and Patten are the only three that I could see that possibly would have benefitted them... and we were beatting them by 10 points until 2 minutes left in the game until they scored a touchdown....

I certainly think we held our own as bad as our team was last year... with our drastically improved defense since then and a hopefully improved offense next year.. I believe we could give them a run for their money.... :) if we played them of course....

Patriots would definitely beat this year's team. I think if we'd made it to the playoffs and proven we could beat everyone else in the bracket we'd put up a good fight in the last game.

They have a good chance of shutting down our running game. If so, we'd be toast.

We could shut Dillon down, and I know we'd intercept a pass or two, but our D would be on the field so long we'd start giving up more points in the 4th.

It'd be a fight, but we'd lose. Sorry.

Now if the STEELERS had made it... we'd be all over the newspapers today.

If we could get our offense in rythmn and still have a punishing defense that could knock Brady and the Pats recievers silly, we would have a chance.

Skins 17
Pats 14

The Pats have only beaten the Skins once in all ten meetings. So we are Dallas to them, everyteam has a team they always do bad against and we are that team for the Pats
