Matt Jones; H-Back?

Post by Smithian »

I found an excellent article about him from ESPN about his abilities at the Senior Bowl workouts. I think Gruden creamed himself over Matt Jones how much he likes him. Thing is I have a reason to not want him here; I like Cooley.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft05/news/story?id=1975310

The quote that gets me to think he might be a Redskin is;
Bucs WR coach Richard Mann on Matt Jones wrote:It's obvious that he has talent. We have given him a lot. He handled it well. You could see he hasn't played the position. I think he will be an H-type back because he is so big. If you get a defensive back on him, it's a mismatch. There's a place for a guy like that.

Maybe we could get him to be the TE or even a WR... we wouldn't need to use him as H-Back all the time... still, he and Cooley could be a 1-2 punch...

With Jones alternating between TE, FB, HB, and WR and Cooley playing HB and TE we could really add a big offensive weapon... hmmmm

Why do you think I am so upset to know he is no longer a Razorback QB? I am going to miss him; he made me want to buy tickets if he was the only good guy on a 0-11 or 0-12 team.
