For those who want Moss...

Post by Jake »

I'm just curious as to your ages. I'm 17 and have been watching football my whole life. And the past 7 years of Moss' antics have surpassed his talents IMO. I'm sick of seeing him make himself look like an idiot on a regular basis.

That being said, I'm guessing the general core of fans on this board who want Moss are either kids, teenagers, or people in their early 20's. So, for the people who want Moss, how old are you?

Im old enough to make high school boys jealous when they bring their little girlfreinds around.

But seriously, what does age have to do with wanting a playmaker on this team?? Thats what fans do.

You for instance you like Samuels and he sucks because he is greedy and is a underacheiver. He is constantly getting beat by, you name it and we dont try and down you for it. I've even noticed you took down the picture with him hugging you

The only thing in my opinion that brings age into play, is the intent of this thread.

For the record - Samuels was not "hugging" Jake in that picture...he was strangling him in jest. Also...moss is a cancer we don't need on this team.

I thought Chris Samuels got burned for one sack all year. If you want to call that underachieving then you can go right ahead. I think one sack a year is pretty good. But, I could be wrong about that one sack. If I am wrong, please tell me how many sacks he gave up.

29...and I'd take Moss in a second...assuming we wouldn't give up too much. Honestly....do you really think Minnesota has won LESS games because Moss was in the lineup. Of course not...they've won more...and the Redskins would win more with him, as well.

In fairness to Jake...I'd put up the picture of Kelly Johnson instead of Samuels, too. That's some serious mojo.

I think you have that exactly right! But you would have to "give up too much!!!" - this is exactly the real point that Jake is getting to! You have not been around long enough or have not bothered to really understand the "past" if you think there is a chance of the present and near future including what it will "cost" to bring him here!!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

:moon:

(That's a Randy Moss moon)

I disagree...that was not Jake's point at all. He made no reference to the "cost" of getting Moss...only that he didn't want him on the 'Skins. I have my reservations about Moss too...but...would he make the skins a better team...you're damn right he would. And he'd make Coles a beast, because Moss would draw all the attention.

Give up our #1 this year for him...you bet! Give up our #1 and a pick next year...hell ya'....give up Arrington and our #1 or something ridiculous like that...NO WAY...you get the idea.

What does Samuels have to do with this thread? Nothing.

My point is... before you call this a BS thread without even asking me what the point was... that in general, younger people like flashier things. AKA playmakers or Moss. And younger people generally tend to overlook the negative aspects.

So, RC, pull the stick out and stop insinuating things. It's not like we're going to get Moss anyways.

I just wanted to know the general ages of the people who want Moss so I can see if my theory (the paragraph above) is correct. And only one person has answered the question.

Doesn't matter... none of this matters.

Moss is an incredible talent, a game breaker.

He is also an arrogant, self-absorbed, self-serving, primadonna who will never wear burgundy and gold on a Gibbs coached team.

The locker room is a major part of Gibbs' philosophy. Moss would never subjugate his "needs" for the team, and would be a disruptive force in the locker room.

Protest all you want, Moss will never be a Redskin.

I was thinking that maybe Jake (and I do not know!) was thinking that fans who are younger might not "know" Gibbs as well as some other younger fans (like himself) who have IMO an incredible amount of "insight"!

I totally agree with you about Moss (talent wise and potetial) but this is not where that talent and attitude will be showcased. As I said - nice fantasy but not going to happen with this coach!

By the way - about the "moon"! I understand that the fans in Green Bay like to do that to the losing team bus and that was a neat payback. That has nothing to do with my opinion about the possibility of this talent/side-show coming here.

It does not take age to recognize talent. ANY team in the NFL would at least look into the possibility of a trade.
Moss the the best receiver in the NFL, look at his numbers since his rookie year. He has a chip on his shoulder and a change of scenery could fix that.

That said, it is unlikely Moss will be traded. But if he gets put on the trading block I fully expect Snyder & Co. to do whatever it takes to get the future hall of famer. The kid wants to win, and you can tell he is tired of the Vikes.

50 men playing together can't lose--we can do without Moss. (How many Superbowl rings does he have for his individual effort, again?)

i'm 27 and i have 2 words for you... Chris Carter. he was a head case and a druggie in Philly, but Buddy traded him away and he blossomed. i'll take randy and i'll take gibbs to get him to play even better than he has. trade LA for him.

I don't believe a single one of you who says you wouldn't take Randy Moss on the Redskins if it was an option. C'mon now...!

I think T.O. kind of proved that in the NFL its ultimately about how big a playmaker you are, not how big of a bonehead. You should all consider the fact too that T.O. was pretty well behaved this year compared to his years with the 49ers. You have to think Andy Reid had alot to do with that.

The NFL is not supposed to be a babysitter - TO And Moss's parents should have taken care of them and their antics long ago. I don't think Joe Gibbs has time to make sure Moss is well behaved and you can believe what you want Riggo but I wouldn't want him on our team ever and you can take that to the bank.

No matter what Moss does on the field that is stupid he is the best WR in the game. Why would you not take them.

what is nuts is the fact that anyone WOULDN'T want him. listen, as it stands now, if the skins don't upgrade at WR they won't be winning anything anytime soon. moss is a gamebreaker. i'll take the occassional moon for a superbowl right now. i think TO is a jerk but if the eagles win it , what does that mean? nothing because owens is a gamebreaker also and the ealges would be world champs. all i care about is winning and if gibbs could mold him into a better player and the skins win a title, i'll take it. i'll take everyone being mad at snyder and moss and gibbs for a superbowl. that's all that counts. i am a man. i care how i act in life. i care how others percieve me. i don't care how people percieve the skins. it's a game. bring in moss and let's start scoring more than 20 points a game!
