Draft - I have no clue

Post by VASkin27 »

This year's draft will be one of the most anticipated in my recent memory, because it seems to me that the options are infinite. Last year everyone knew it was going to be either Taylor or Winslow, but this year is different. I know we still have almost four months, but hear are the options I see (in order of need):

1- OL - This is iffy, we have the best line coaches in recent history, and our line this year was devastated by injury. If we don't pick up one more lineman I still think we'll be alright. However, Adam Terry (Syracuse) could start at any position on the line and we could even trade down to get him. Others are D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Marcus Johnson.

2- DL - Dan Cody is the most intense player I have ever seen, who else faints after their pep talks? He is very versatile, could play end or tackle, but isn't the biggest pass rusher on the board. Erasmus James is the logical choice for pass rush end, but Matt Roth is an option. In my opinion, David Pollack is too small to be an effective pass rusher in the NFL.

3 - Mike Williams - If he falls to us, I just don't see how we can pass on this amount of talent. He could be the T.O. of the future, lets hope he doesn't have the mouth.

4 - TE - With our pick we can have any TE we want, and probably trade down to get him. This includes Heath Miller and Alex Smith (from Stanford, not Utah)

5 - If we wanted, we could solve the CB problem by drafting a CB (Rolle, McFadden, Rogers), any of these 3 could start if we decided to not keep Smoot (I really hope we do).

6 - Gibbs has already tabbed PRam as our 2005 starter, but if he gets antsy we could probably have a shot at Alex Smith or Charlie Frye.

That's my two cents. Sorry for kickin off the Draft mania early, but I'm already foaming at the mouth in anticipation. Go Skins!

I think for DL, Mathias Kiwanuka is the best pass rushing end in the draft (if he decides to enter the draft)...he's got the most upside as well

You metion Rolle as a choice for CB in the upcoming draft. Is that the brother of Samari Rolle the Cornerback currently playing for the Titans?

Same family of Rolles. There have been a few. Sumari is current. I can't remember the name of the other Rolle - good research project. Antrell is bigger, stronger, meaner and a better cover guy... he's gonna be the star of the Rolle family and his new team.

Mathias Kiwanuka is going to stay for his senior season.
