Madden 2005

Post by SkinFan 0-16 or 16-0 »

There is a way to use the H Back on Madden. It does not have its own position, but you can use it.

Here's and example of how you do it.

Take Cooley. Make him the # 1 FB on the depth chart. Go to the tight Ends and make him #2. That puts Cooley in the backfield in every package with a full back. And on the line in every 2 tight End Package.

After this while you are in the game. Go to the substitution page, and put in Cooley as the tight End every time you see just one tight End.

And there you have it. An H Back.

Use the double tight end sets.

Move the tight end behind the line and he will be an H back

Guys, I played Madden till I got bored and picked ESPN back up to give it a go. My Church is having a Madden tournament this Sat. and I'm super rusty.

Of course I use the RedSkins, give me some tips. All this week Ive been trying to get the ESPN gameplay out of my mind.

Give me some tips and advice.

If you ever get into trouble on a 3rd down, try ShotGun Trips TE. PA Deep Attack.

There is a drag (drag-like) route with Coles across the bottom. Wait until he comes across the formation.

If the blitz comes roll away from it.

If there is a linebacker spy don't scramble he will keep moving the same direction as coles.

The only possible thing you have to worry for is the cornerback on the right side. If he plays his cover two or stays down in the flat don't throw it. It will be a pick taken back to the house.

9 times out of 10 it is a 5 yarder with 20-25 after the catch. Because of Coles' Speed. And the play fake.

Hope that helps.

Substitute Vaughn Parker in as a Tightend on certain running plays and run to his side.

I dont know if your tournament has updated rosters. If they dont, put in Winey and run to his side. His Run Block is in the high 80's.
When sellers or Cartright engages with whoever, just hit the spin button and off you go.

People will say you cheat when you have 100+ yards in the first half though

You be be glitching boy.

Thanks man. I'm supplying my memory card for the updated rosters.

They guy who set it up isn't even a gamer so he has no clue what he's doing. We got into it a bit because he's one of those types who won't admit that he's not learned in an area and will debate with no knowledge.

Anymore tips or is the well empty?

RC, I actually put 2 linemen at the 1st and 2nd TE positions since I dont utilize them much in the passing game. Cooley is the only person who'd be worth playing at TE but I have him at FB. Do you think I should put Cooley as the #2 TE, Sellers at FB and the linemen as TE#1? What do you think is the best combination?

Yes.

I only use Cooley in diffrnt packages. He catches pretty good.

I would give a you some 'Nano blitzes but..

On dime packages put Lavar in as a DE. He then will be the fastest DE in the game.

His speed is 88, also put Danials right beside him

I keep Sellers at FB & Kozlowski at TE, they block way better! I've used Cooley at TE and/or FB, he drops alot of balls because his awareness is very low. I get way more yards with Portis without Cooley in. I'm talking about online play, you need every advantage you can get.

Another Great play is Gardner Option on Single Back Big. The play will actually be named after whoever you have at #2 receiver. Coles Option. McCants Option. etc.

The right tight End runs a corner route. So if you decide to substitute that tackle, put him on the opposite side that you would roll out to. (Ramsey-put him on the left/ Brunnell Right.)

If you use Ramsey roll out right. If you use Brunnell roll out left. 95 times out of 100 the tight End beats the Safety,'backer to the corner. Hit him right on his cut. Coles/ your #1 receiver stays in short. If you see the corner drop back into a deep zone, hit him.

Don't use Gibbs' playbook, use Jim Mora Jr. (from Atlanta), it's way better!

There is a pass play in "I-Form - Normal", called "HB Middle", Portis runs to the outside towards the TE then cuts back across the middle, the longer you wait, the more open Portis gets!

Then in "Singleback - Tight", "Slot Outs", either Coles or Gardner run a quick out route, flip the play to the wider side of the field & use that guy. Wait for the WR to cut outside and he will out-run his defender, throw the ball, but keep running outside towards the sideline, then break up the field, it works everytime. If they're playing Zone D, Thrash or McCants will be 1 on 1 with a Safety on that same side, they get open, but drop alot of balls!
