Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells has named quarterback Tony Romo the number 2 QB behind Vinny Testaverde and demoting Drew Henson to the number 3rd quarterback Sunday against Philadelphia. Henson had replaced Romo as the primary backup to Vinny Testaverde in Week 7, including starting on Thanksgiving Day, but Parcells said he does not believe Henson is ready to play, especially not against the Eagles. . Romo also is an undrafted free agent last year out of Eastern Illinois who will enter his final year of exclusive rights free agency in 2005 while Henson signed an eight year deal with Dallas in March
This is Parcells flexing his coaching/GM muscle. This week in SI JJ admitted that he wants Henson to play, but is leaving that up to BP. Now let's see if he can leave the two #1's up to BP...my guess is he can't!

The article went on to say that the Cowboys (I guess that means Parcells) want Henson to play in NFL Europe to get his football skills back...or to gain the skills that he missed by dropping out of college so early.
Did I read that George Steinbrenner had tried to negotiate to include the rights to Henson in the Big Unit three-way trade? Sheffield and Giambi to the Cowboys...With a slight pay-cut, Henson could improve to second-string third-baseman at Columbus, providing backup to the backup to the backup to Alex Rodriguez.
(Answer...no, I didn't read that, but I think "can;t hit" every time I hear Henson's name.)
