Aw hell, why not just freaking' tank the next two decades, then we could field a team of all #1 picks. After all, we have no talent...

Santana isn't a "genuine" #1wr
Orakpo can't beat blocks
Laundry can't tackle.
T. Williams can't block.
D. Hall can't cover.
Fletcher is too small and too old.
All the new talent are losers
None of our guys could start on a real team

All of our players suck (according to what I read here) our coaching staff is incompetent, our owner is the antichrist, and the team dresses funny. Did I leave anything out?

Yes, you forgot to mention that Kemoeatu can't play NT and Golston is not starting DE material. Also, Andre Carter can't play OLB either. Carlos Rogers can't catch for the life of him. Rabach cannot play center anymore. Monty is a better center than guard. Hicks shouldn't be a starter. Heyer should be replaced. Portis can't take it to the house. The running game needs to show life - none last year - offseason, preseason, and regular season. QB play needs to improve - the guy we had last year had one of the worst season of any starter - it will be hard to improve on that performance

Also you failed to mention that our team was so sorry last year that we were ONLY competitive in 14 out of 16 games. We lost 6 games by 4 points or less. Had leads in at least the 3rd quarter of two of the 4 other losses. Played in 4 OT games and an extra point snap from a 5th. We were so sorry, that we got blown out in a lot of games - ALL TWO of them. WE were so sorry, we had 3 pro bowlers and one leading in votes when he got hurt and all that on a 31st ranked defense.

All those guys you listed have been replaced with upgrades. I will be very surprised if we end up sub .500. The changes made have made ours a better team. We WILL start beating the teams we should beat. We WILL be competitive against elite teams, and win our share of close games. And we will continue to improve in coming drafts as it becomes a matter of upgrading spots rather than retailing half the squad. If you don't believe in the team, how can you be a fan. It's about supporting, not just watching.we all have bellyached for years about the need to do things right, if you still can't hang when that's finally happening, why not move to Dall-ass? Then you can have all the "talent" you want (tho no post season success)

Even though he was in the top 5 in receptions and top 10 for NFL WR in yards? So that would tell me either you don't believe in performance over style or you just think there are only 9 #1 WR in the NFL.

You can't be in the top ten in catches and yards and NOT BE A #1 WR!!!!!

This stuff pisses me off, people consistantly say he is not a #1, yet year, after year, after year he is in the top half of NFL WRs.

Face it, HE IS A #1 WR.

He was hurt all last year and still produced at a PB level, but as you stated we do have the Davis

I don't know how many game we will win but I quarantee it will be above six! I think the over 6.5 games on the over/under is the safest bet in Vegas and anyone going there should place every disposable cent they have on the over and play the very high odds that they will win that bet.

This team simply is not a 4-6 win team. I'm kind of with you on the OL. I don't think they have improved as much as everyone else thinks they did, but I don think they improved and you would have to be insane to think they haven't

They're better at RB, better at WR, better at OL, better at DL, better at LB, better a DB, and better at punter, and our Kicker SEEMS to have everything in one sock for a change.

AND I think we will be better at QB (we will have to see).

AND statistically our schedule is one of the softest in the NFL (even though you never know how that will play out) We play the NFC West for the gods sake. That should be four wins. We always split with the EGirls and Cowgirls and I think we will finally take one from the Gnats (because they have had a ROUGH offseason).

No way win win less than 7 games and that would be a let down.[/quote]

Also note that AA was 4th among #2 WR's last yr. (Gafney was 3rd)

Totally disagree. Explain why he gets to post any opinion he wants, including trashing the team this board is set up for fans of, and we're required to be silent. I do not get that at all in any way and you keep repeating but not explaining why he has the right to express his view and we do not have the right to express ours.

Dude, I'm all for people coming on here and expressing themselves. My problem is people getting trashed for having an opinion, or better yet expressing themselves. Instead of trashing someone or questioning someone's fan hood that you have never met, why not initiate a reasonable conversation? You say that he was trashing the team, maybe to you he is, but maybe to him he wasn't. Look, I saw one of his posts that I don't agree with, however I do think that he makes some good valid points in his other posts. To me most of it makes sense and I see where he is going with it.

Once again: no, they don't. They get trashed for having extreme opinions that lack sufficient reasons to back them up. Things like saying a team should throw away a season on purpose for a throw of the dice with a draft pick.

You say that he was trashing the team, maybe to you he is, but maybe to him he wasn't.

ROTFALMAO

Sorry man, but trashing is trashing. This is definitely not one of those cases where one man's trash is another's treasure. Saying that we should go 2-14 and that he'll be rooting against the Skins is all I had to hear.

Irn-Bru I do not want to root against the Redskins, I do not want to sit at the games and hope we lose. I have repeatedly stated my reasons for why I feel that it's in our best interest in a rebuilding year to end up with the #1 pick and select Andrew Luck. Then have him as our franchise QB (assuming he doesn't bust) that we can build around and in a few years finally be a playoff contender and hopefully a SB contender.

Irn-Bru you're right I did trash our FA signings and I honestly believe they were bad signings and that we overpaid 3 players Bowen (unproven), Chester (not starter quality) and Cofield (a decent player nothing special, who is undersized to play NT and hasn't played it since college) The only FA signing I praised was Josh Wilson who was signed for the right price and has been a consistently solid cover corner his whole career, along with the best corner for the Ravens down the stretch last year. I should also state that I praise signing OJ Atogwe before the lockout.

RedskinsRule56 wrote:Irn-Bru I do not want to root against the Redskins, I do not want to sit at the games and hope we lose.

But you said you are going to. How is this supposed to be a consolation, much less a counterargument?

What would you think of an alleged Skins fan who shows up to a MNF game at FedEx wearing a Cowboys shirt and saying "Hey, look, I don't want to cheer for the Cowboys! I'm just saying I think it's in the long-term interests of the team to do so!"

I would be repulsed by that fan. Apparently you would try to figure out if he had reasonable arguments to make. And jeremyroyce would be busy defending him against the Skins fans saying "how dare you question his fanhood!"

This might sound far-fetched but to me the two scenarios are very close to each other. I cannot fathom how someone could think that cheering for the Redskins to lose and being a fan are consistent ideas.

I have repeatedly stated my reasons for why I feel that it's in our best interest in a rebuilding year to end up with the #1 pick and select Andrew Luck.

Look, I'm giving you a hard time because it's easy to trash someone with extreme opinions, I admit.

However, it doesn't help that I dealt with these arguments back on page 3 of this thread and never heard one word in response. For someone who's complaining that I haven't read your posts and that no one wants to take your arguments seriously, it's not doing yourself any favors to ignore when people engage what you say. My 2 cents

The Shanahans FA signings/trades from last year has not worked out so well and that is putting it nicely. Lets review them.

Traded for McNabb, FA Joey Galloway, Maaeke Kemoetau, Adam Carriker, traded for Jammal Brown, Josh Bidwell, (we ended up going through 3 punters last year) Ryan Torrain and Keiland Williams. signed Artis Hicks (to start)- he was unable to cut it as a starter. Brandon Banks and Phillip Buchanon.

I count 13 players which include the 3 punters we went through during last season. Of those 13 players 6 are cut. Phillip Buchanon is a nickle corner at best who is suspended for our first four games . Artis Hick lost his job as a starter during the season and is now a backup. Ryan Torrain can't stay healthy and MS knew this because he he had the same problems in Denver when Shanahan drafted him in 2008. Keiland Williams is in danger of being cut. Oh and the icing on the cake we got ripped off by a division rival on wasting a 2nd round pick and 4th rounder to have him McNabb for one year. Don't even get me started on how poorly MS and KS handled McNabb and Haynesworthless during last year.

That leaves with Adam Carriker, Jammal Brown, Brandon Banks (an undrafted FA) Torrain, (Tim Hightower MR. Fumbling machine will start over Torrain) Keiland Williams (who will be cut) and Artis Hicks. OH BABY! What a great FA (we had last year) (insert sacrasm here)

IrnBru as I have tried to explain I will take 2 wins this year when I realize we are in a rebuilding year and not going to be good. Realistically our max win potential is 4-6 wins. We will be selecting our hopeful franchise QB in the first round of the 2012 Draft. Obviously, I want it to be Andrew Luck because I feel that he is far and away the best QB of this draft class and the best QB coming out of college since Peyton Manning. We will finally have our franchise QB to build around which will set us up for future success for the next 10-15 years. Wouldn't you trade 10-15 years of being a perennial playoff contender/SB contender for one terrible season? I would in a heartbeat and that is why I am rooting for us to go 2-14 and get Andrew Luck.

Well I have given my reasons as to why we are a max 4-6 win team and regardless John Beck/Rex Grossman are so far away from being the answer at QB that it almost seems like some cruel joke. It seems like a lock that Beck will start this year and he is going to fail miserably.
