Perhaps not mad, but definitely puzzled.

I am also puzzled and am not willing to accept without evidence that he's getting an opportunity to produce. The ball is almost never thrown to him.
Is he getting open? I don't know. Maybe he is. A guy who's a third or fourth option by design doesn't get much business, open or not. What I'm not seeing, as some of you say you are, is a lack of effort or dropped balls.

Matter of fact, his skills appear to be adequate or better.

It would be unfair to say that Lloyd is not producing as a pass receiver if his number is seldom called or he's called on to block most of the time.i

It's funny you bring up Mark in a BLloyd thread, but since you did, it made me think and I came to the following conclusion: Mark would have dropped it, too, considering his skills as a receiver are on par with Lloyd's. Of course, Mark would have given life and limb to catch up to the defender.

For what it's worth Joe Gibbs thinks Lloyd didn't give his best. In the radio interview yesterday with Larry Michael he dodged the question and basically said he keeps that kind of stuff in-house.

Translation: Gibbs...who had time to review the game tape... was unimpressed. Otherwise, he would have defended him tooth and nail.... and I just didn't hear that from him.

Mark's skills at Qb are on par with the quarterbacking skills of Lloyd is how you meant that to come out.

Go back to lurking, you're better at that and for the record you've seem to have lost you comical edge (not that you had one) once Mark was obviously falling to #3 (that would have been sometime back in March)

I'm a Redskin fan I support them all in their highs and their lows. You on the other hand only only pop up when the guy that I'm hoping you only have a Mancrush onand it's not love, but if anyone can be accused of being inlove with a guy that would be you. (just remember when you point fingers three are pointing right back at cha
Everyone wants to cut Lloyd, even with 5 or wideouts on the team he'd draw more attention than Mark does when he breaks the huddle.

You went from want to ride shotgun with Chris to a Tailg8er now you're just hatin on a guy that your guy help put in the spot that he is in.
:celebrate: Now go away and let those that actually have input use the space that you take up.

I think we're all fans here. We all bleed Burgundy and Gold. Why else would we be here debating the merits of a third string wide reciever?

And Mark B. will be a Skin after Lloyd has been cut and signed by some other team foolish enough to hire a shirker.

Moss, Randle El, Caldwell, Cooley. I can live with that combo for the rest of the year.

After reading this thread, I'm disgusted. BH and I put days of work into providing the B. Lloyd show because we want to give Redskin fans unfiltered access to a Redskins player. Brandon donates hours of his personal time (not time he'd normally be practicing or studying film for those of you that think he can't focus on his job because he does his show) because he Joe Gibbs told him Redskins fans are the best, most knowledgable, most loyal fans in the NFL and he wanted to give us fans unprecedented access to a Redskins player.

When he reads this thread, I'm not sure he'll feel the same way. If he can overlook the name calling and character bashing by those who choose to use this access to bash and name call a guy who gives up his family time to give you DIRECT ACCESS to him and the things that happen at Redskins Part, maybe I'll ask him what happened on that play, and you can hear it from the horse's mouth, rather than conjecture from the members of the media who have gone out of their way to bash him in his short time here and what you think may have happened while watching the play on TV.

Things that jumped out to me on that video clip:

1) Just how brutal of a blocker Portis is.
2) How much time Campbell had.
3) B Loyd took off one yard in front of the endzone...his body came to a land in the middle of the end zone.

To those of you who haven't set foot onto a real football field wouldn't realize that he jumped up into the air, and came down over 6 yards from where he took off. You CAN"T do that without giving effort.

Maybe he mistimed his jump, or underestimated the jumping ability of the defender, but that happens to everybody.

As for the return, he got up and jogged behind the guy....its a toss up whether he should have ran harder, but it looks like he saw that the guy was going out of bounds and he wasn't going to catch him before that. Its a matter of opinion what he should do there, but to say that he didn't give effort isn't accurate. Maybe he didn't give the effort you expect, but if you play video games more than you play real football, you probably have a warped sense of what players can really do on the field in real life.

Go outside, run at full speed, then jump up into the air and don't come down until you're 7 yards away and on your chin...then tell us if it was effortless.

Disgusted? Don't take this personally. It's nothing more than fan perspective.

Carlos Rogers takes a beating on this board.

Brunell is dragged through the mud.

The defensive line was called out as inept all offseason.

Vinny, Dan, and even Coach Gibbs will get hammered here.

Why is Lloyd untouchable? Because he has a show here?

Lloyd's service to the team simply hasn't lived up to the premise under which he was hired by the team. That's a statistical fact. And he's being replaced. Caldwell wasn't signed to replace Moss, Thrash, or Randle El and they don't run many four reciever sets.

But since it's such a sore subject. No more from me and PLEASE, Brandon, shut us up by scoring a TD monday night!

B. Lloyd I know you had an off game, thats ok it happens. I just ask that you give one hundred percent and I will always support you. Just keep bugging
Jason Campbell to throw you the ball more in the huddle. I know you can do it man.

My honest opinion if you are reading this is. I think you will be more effective in the crossing routes about 15 yards crossing patterns. Just go keep running through the middle of the field 15 yards deep there is bound to be a hole in coverage. I know you can make those tough catches in the middle, the guy who picks up that first down for us. We have deep threats, in which you can do too. I just think the most important reciever is the one who makes those tough catches in the middle in which you can do.

In conclusion I support you B. Lloyd and so does the rest of these guys. Just show them how it is done on Sunday. Oh I mean Monday. Alright Playa stay strong brotha. Oh yeah that ball was underthrown. If JC would have just threw a bullet to the inside it would have been T.D.

My thoughts exactly.

In fairness to the Lloyd-Luvas (aka BLloyd-BLlievers), #85 has shown an ability to block downfield. He does have playmaking ability, if you count the blocks downfield as "making plays".

If you're looking for catching ability, you're barking up the wrong tree, and that just can't possibly be fair to Brandon at this point in his career. That's what Santana and ARE are for, right, BLlievers? I mean, why else would he get "swole", unless he meant to improve on the thing he does best, i.e. blocking? :?:

First, Chris jumped ship and left me to steer the bandwagon, but thats the subject for a whole 'nother thread.

Second, it was Mark's performance that was victimized by WR#85's "talent", and not the other way around. Need proof, check out how WR#85 has helped out JC in tight spots, eh? (New year, different QB, same stuff)

Thirdly, isn't this the WR#85 must go thread? Why get your panties up in a bunch in a thread that is negative anyway?

Finally, for the record, I appreciate WR#85's contributions to the site and JF's and BH's efforts to get him on the air. That can never be repaid, but it also does not guarantee a free pass from having his performance on the field criticized. If he's in fact better than what he's shown so far, it will all work itself in the end, but for now, it leaves much to be desired. My 2 cents

I could not have said it better myself. And I am not at a loss for words. Trust me.

But what bothers me the most is that EVEN the play over which several posters are basing themselves to make a judgment, does not support that criticism.

Actually, this is not true. What really bothers me the most is that if B. Lloyd was a fanatic religious person, some posters who share those beliefs would be licking his running shoes regardless of the nature of his game. Pathetic.

Go Brandon! Show them!

What bothers me is that no one posting here is an NFL wide receiver and therefore is ignorant on the subject.

Fans should be fans. Fans are not players, coaches, management or ownership. If anyone's employer was nearly as judgmental as many posters here seem to be, many of us would find ourselves unemployed.

There is nothing wrong with being critical. There is everything wrong with being hypercritical.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.

I guess it is difficult for many to imagine cheering for and supporting a player, as well as defending them against criticism, even when they've had the first season + 1 game that Brandon has had.

You don't have to be blind, corrupt, or otherwise compromised to think that Lloyd still has something to offer the Skins. Go Lloyd!

The irony of the biggest apologist on the board mocking people for defending a guy is outrageous. I'm sure like most people... I find most of your comments self-serving and without a drop of football sense or logic... these comments just wreak of hypocrisy as well.

I personally hope Brandon does well for the team. My comments were directed at what I think was a "lack of effort" after the ball was intercepted. He looked like he was trying to get the ball before the interception but afterwards, he looked like he didn't have a sense of urgency. I am sure there is more to the situation than what meets the eye but I can only comment on what I saw him do.

I think once Campbell starts making better decisions on the field, Lloyd will start seeing more balls thrown his way. Everyone has to realize that Campbell is still green and is going to make quite a few mistakes and not see some open receivers. I just hope we can get the trio of wide receivers + Cooley rolling because it should be rather fun to watch. I am going to reserve my opinion on whether or not Lloyd needs to go until about halfway through the season.
