Heck, every week on the B. Lloyd show I write down little 1-3 word phrases to help me remember to cover the things I want to cover.
If you're apologizing for something, you should know what your apologizing for. You shouldn't have to have a reminder. That was one of my points.
Not true, particularly when you have a chance at getting a shorter sentence, as long as you don't incriminate yourself further.
Shoot, I would have written it out and used a teleprompter, if that were the case. (Works for the President

So the next time you get up in public, I expect you not to take any notes with you, Jake. Otherwise, why would you be getting up to speak in front of public, unless you already knew what you wanted to say? Clearly, if you have notes, then you are a fraud.
This really doesn't prove anything about Vick not meaning it. All it proves is that he wanted to make an orderly statement in as straightforward a manner as possible. The article that you linked essentially assumes their conclusion when they start by saying "Some Vick supporters have said that Vick must have been sincere in his apology because he gave it without notes."
OK, so some Vick supporters said that before this evidence came to light. Because they were wrong about whether Vick even used notes, does that imply that detractors who say Vick isn't sincere are right? It's specious reasoning.
Besides, there are plenty of other reasons to suspect that Vick hasn't had the conversion that he speaks of. . .

It's an apology, not an inauguration speech, or a Hall of Fame induction speech or anything like that. I just feel if you know what you did wrong, then it shouldn't require notes.
I still feel that he is only apologizing because he got caught and he doesn't really mean his apology.

That's cool. Everyone won't accept his apology but using a note to justify it doesn't really prove anything. So what that he took notes. I would have. I get nervous when giving speeches in front of friends, not to mention a blood thirsty nation that would love to see me slit my throat on national TV. I'd need to write it down, I think.

It's a press conference apology, not a standard apology, notes are understandable and advisable. Whatever his actual level of sincerity, spending time to jot some notes down prior to making the apology isn't reflective of it.
