Lack of confidence all of the sudden?
The pressure is getting to ya? Maybe you are hearing Redeemed steps ... Naaah! He already did QUIT!
It is OK AS LONG AS it is done PRIOR to
Sunday!
You can always EDIT the original post instead of creating a NEW one.

Since these picks have been posted so late in the week on FRIDAY, according to your own previous arguments, they do NOT qualify to be called "Picks of Redemption"; "Picks of Integrity"; or "Picks of Courage".
But we take them gladly, as we do take others PRIOR to the first day of all games, according to the rules. Good luck.

..The picks are made PRIOR to the first day of all games, according to the rules.
RiC - I have a question! Does this mean that picks for games on Sunday must be also selected on Thursday if there is a Thursday game? I thought that picks were allowed prior to the earliest start times on the day they were played? My bad!

We are not allowing picks made the SAME day that the games take place according to the results of the POLL that was made about this subject a few weeks ago. So, the deadline is -normally- Saturday midnight EST. Thursday's week games are exceptions during the regular season, such as US Thanksgiving day.
For example, somebody missed the deadline PRIOR to Thursday this past Thanksgiving week. ONLY the games played on Sunday and Monday counted for his record because he submitted on Friday.
The key here is NO CHEATING with developments taking place during game days. Some of us submit our picks much earlier than Friday or Saturday. But anybody could still do it on Saturday. REALITY has shown no real advantage to posters who have made predictions later on the week as opposed to earlier in the week.
But this was NEVER intended to be a serious competition. Surely, we make friendly fun of one another and personal rivalries develop over time. Everybody tries to do the best they can with their head, information and gut. But in the end, everybody probably would agree that Hognosticating is partly knowledge, experience, instinct and ... to a considerable extent in today's parity NFL: LOTS OF LUCK!
Many games have been defined by less than a field goal throughout the season. (Do WE know that?

). So two or three games going either way can truly ruin a Hognostication score.
In theory, a track record over an ENTIRE season hopefully separates the luck aspect from the knowledge and information aspect. For that the REAL prize is: BRAGGING rights and the ability to SMACK and make friendly fun of your opponents.
But this should be done with caution because the tables turn around very quickly.

With the exception of Redeemed, who has developed habit of making the Picks of Perdition week after week. But he keeps on promising redemption ...
So, this is how it goes. Maybe with this season's success, next season we can post clear rules at the head of similar thread at the beginning of the season.

No worries! I was in Australia for the last 3 games and had no "real" access! I did get to a library and a friend's computer to make my picks but had not been made aware of the subtle change in the selection deadline!
I missed the first 3 weeks so am not seriously in "contention" this year. However, I have kept my own "score" so I know how I'm doing un-officially and am looking forward to getting in early next year.
keep up the good work, it is most appreciated by all. I even think that TRO gets a small amount of pleasure from all the ribbing too!

I made my quest for the THN Hognostications shirt difficult this week, by not gaining ground on the leaders, but I take solace in the following results:
Redskin in Canada wrote:10 - 04 Redeemed - + - + + + - + + + - + + +
08 - 06 Punu + + + - - + + - - - + + - + you had 10 - 04 originally
Just a reminder, Punu, if you mess with the bull, YOU GET THE HORNS!!!!!!
Take a deep breath, Punu, gather your bearings, and remember what I wrote:Punu wrote:Where you at Redeem????????????????
Now you know I gotta keep talk'n trash bro! I'm back'n up the smack!

I pummeled you into a "no-show"last week, and now you want to talk smack after a fluke week??
With the added incentive of the THN Hognostications shirt in the mix, enjoy your "trashing" over the course of the week, cause, or the remainder of the season, you will have wished you had never issued a challenge to me to begin with.

Congratulations to RiC. I had to try and make up some ground by taking a flyer! So on Saturday night, against my better judgement, I made some not so very well calculated "changes". But this notwithstanding - Job very well done and also to those with 12-2 and 11-3, these are very good results by a large number of board members.
Now that I have effectively removed myself from whatever chance I had I will get back to making my picks with (hoefully) more respectable results.
great job this week to Redskin in Canada; DarthMonk; FanfromAnnapolis; joebagadonuts; Justice Hog; Tazlah; AZHog; skinz74; UK Skins Fan in particular.
