In watching the DET game, I felt Scherff was playing at a below average grade, so I checked to see if people/media were expressing the same sentiment --- low and behold they were.

He is a rookie and the OL transition is one of the most difficult in the NFL, so I am not particularly worried --- but it would have been nice to see the guy hit the ground running....

I agree with most of what you said. However, BS was a top 5 pick in the NFL. He should not have looked so poor. No one takes Guards that high. He clearly couldn't make it as a tackle and he looked horrible as a guard. If he was a second round pick or a third round pick...ok. But he was the 5th overall pick. 5th overall picks do not get pushed like a rag doll back into their QBs and manhandled like BS was so routinely. Will he get better-yes. Will he start-yes. Will he ever be worthy of the 5th overall pick- unless he turns into Grimm, no.

This is why we don't make idiotic statements about rookies in preseason.

heh,heh,heh... Suh was one frustrated adolescent child for much of the game yesterday... Hence the cheap shots at Alf and Moses... The cut block laid on him by Scherff was a thing of beauty, certainly contributing the demeanor of poor Suh. I certainly feel good about the direction of both lines at this point.

Only one sack allowed vs. reputedly one of the top d-lines in the NFL. Given the rushing yards and the work we put in on Tannehill, is it safe to say we had the better d-line yesterday?

we were leading this game with 10 minutes to play ... we could very easily have won the game

Miami did not 'win' this game - our team found a way to lose it ...

Yes, we had the better D-line. Miami had the better secondary. That being said, the Miami secondary did not have a difficult job after DeSean Jackson was sidelined (i.e., the whole day). But they did make the plays needed to win the game.

I know this team can find a way to win, they gotta break through at some point. Fingers crossed.
