I went to fan appreciation day yesterday and Hightower looked great. Explosive, decisive, great vision.
Others that looked good to me:
Hankerson, he just looks like an nfl wr. Big and strong and knows how to use his body.
Niles paul, FAST
T Austin, made a lot of contested catches.

Hightower probably doesn't need the injury bug to help him become the starter...redskinz4ever wrote:hightower might be the stater if the injury bug keeps biting

So key. All our rushing yards have come "the hard way" for so long now because our passing game has been so toothless. Continuity up front with some receivers stepping up sure would be nice.Countertrey wrote:I see Shanahan working to create a healthy rotation of down hill runners in the offensive backfield. Next questions: "Can the O-line keep up?" "Will the passing game be adequate to keep the box uncluttered?"

Tim Hightower tightens grip on starting job

There are a lot of questions to be answered about the Redskins offense, but we have a pretty good idea who there No. 1 running back will be in Week One.
Tim Hightower rushed 10 times for 44 yards on Friday against the Steelers, looking like a nice fit for Mike Shanahan’s one-cut style. He also caught an eight yard pass.
It’s quite a transformation for a guy who avoided contact so much early in his career that he once literally went to the ground to avoid a tackle instead of picking up the first down. Hightower has steadily improved his pass protection skills and now he seems to welcome contact and run far more decisively. The Redskins offensive line opened up big holes Friday.
Rookies Evan Royster and Roy Helu are battling for a role behind Hightower. Royster hit the field first Friday, but Helu looks like he has more explosive ability. Veteran Ryan Torain is injured at the moment, but he’s headed for a reserve role.
This is Hightower’s job to lose, which makes Washington’s trade for him look pretty good right about now.
