We all have to remember that Coach Gibbs inherited a bad football team and the fact he has been out of football for 10 or so years hasn't helped. He seems alittle rusty.

Anyone remember his 1st stint as Redskin coach?
Everyone wanted to run him out of town, glad he stayed.

Side note I predicted the Skins would be 7-9 this year.
I still stand by that.

Gibbs brought in 23 guys this year so we can't say he inherited a bad team we can say it takes more than 1 offseason to get the type of players that he wants

I honestly wish I could see what you guys see in Ramsey. I think Ramsey is a back-up quality QB with a strong arm. Unfortunatly that strong arm doesn't translate to accurate passing and management skills. I don't ever see him being a SB QB. I'm sorry but that's how I feel. I think it's unfair that Brunell is always the fall guy on this team. Portis's fumble is what killed us today. But can we really blame Portis. Most of the time he has no holes to run through.

Why aren't there any holes to run through? Maybe its cause Brunell can't throw it up the field so the defenses are stacking the line....Falls on Brunell in this case.

He needs a 'rippin, too, TC. My friends once caddied for him at a Severna Park golf course, and he accused them of trying to steal his towels! (they weren't. . .but so what even if they were?! The guy is stacked!)

Don't get me wrong, I'll still be watching and cheering for, just with a LOT less expectations. I've weathered the storm for over 10 years now. Do you actually think I'll stop supporting the team, especially with Gibbs back? C'mon...

I also need to watch the game that was brodcast because most people in here don't think we looked as bad as what I actually saw in person. It was a pathetic excuse for a game. Two bad teams and we couldn't come out on top.

And playing the Browns 2 weeks in a row? Not quite. If you think the Browns have a good D, then wait until next week. We better be on our game for a change.

I resent your statements JP and if you want, we can take this to the smack forum.(later tonight, as I don't have time right now) I'm NOT a bandwagon fan. Nevr have been. I've been pulling for this team for 20 years and I'm not going to stop now. I just know that right now this is a very bad team, and not being coached very well. This whole time management stuff is starting to get to me. I think Gibbs will sharpen up as time goes on, but it's not exactly helping, especially when our go to guys are having trouble holding onto the ball.

Another reason I'm so bitter is because this game was my first time seeing our beloved Skins in person. I walked into Cleveland Stadium proud as could be. Wearing my jersey and tailgating right by the stadium. I was the only Skin fan in sight. Pretty ballsy if you ask me. I was so confident that we would walk in there house and dominate. Boy was I wrong.

Sure.... as we all know it sucks being 1-3, I can't stand it, but the fact remains that this is Week 4!!!!, not 17!!! The world has not ended. I am certainly not being pessimistic but some of these expectations set entering the season are a bit more than ridiculous. I won't be unrealistic, cause most of the times I would rather just live in an ivory tower, but teams have come back from further than this before. The 05 Redskins can easily be late bloomers. When a team has the largest player turnover of any team in the NFL, not to mention deprogramming (i.e last year) and a completely new system, instant gratification is not assured.

This being said, many people keep referring to the fact that the easy part of our schedule is over. That we have lost to the "bad teams". Says who! Hey NYG is 3-1. Is it just me or does that sound bad. Hmm... NO, sounds pretty good to me. Dallas, even though I admit this with reluctance still seems to be a fairly solid team. Others will argue that they got the lucky breaks, their defense kept them in the games, and they won the close wons. LIke last year we are losing the close ones. The elite teams,(which I am not saying Dallis is one) find ways to win those close ones. Ok time for the Browns, 2 years removed from the playoffs, the QB carousel killed them last year(see Redskins in 2002). Garcia is doing a good job leading this team that lost its way last year. 2-2 seems fair to me, It is certainly better than 1-3.

That being said, I think people seem to be basing their ideas of "bad teams" on last years tenure, chances are I might be wrong, but it just seems that way. With only four weeks it is hard to get an accurate judge of character of "good teams" or "bad teams".

The last thing is all this pessimistic drabble, QUIT IT!. It is not g etting us anywhere. Sure we all got caught up in the return of JG and we might have gotten a little excited in our aspirations for the year.A common medium between the two needs to be found. I love watching the Skins and havent given up hope on and I hope more people feel the same. It is just sad to hear people talking of next years draft adn whatnot. HANG IN THERE! There have been worse things! I definetely don't think our record represents us well.

THere is no question we are better than a 1-3 team, but not as quite as good as i and alot of other people would've hoped.

Sorry for the lengthy post but one more thing. Fingers have to stop being pointed. It ain't all Brunell's fault. It isnt all Portis' fault. it isn't all the o-llines fault. It isnt all JG's fault. it isnt the systems fault. Many have an equal hand in the mishaps right now.Give it time. But scapegoatin helps no one and it just hurts the moreale.

Not to worry General Failure.....I'm still a loyal fan to a bad team. It seems as though only the coaching and players change, not the results.

As for those of you that say I've thrown in the towel, you act like I won't still be cheering them on every Sunday. It that regard you are all completely wrong. I love this team, no matter what they keep doing to my heart. I'm still there for them, I just don't have unrealistic expectations anymore. Joe signed up for one hell of a challenge and I, for one, think he's up to it. It'll just take time, something that Mr. Brunell doesn't have much of. That's part of my reasoning to desire them to start Ramsey.

all i'll add to the topic is ........ "ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY" ..so what if this season turns aout to be a wash ....i had a lot of false hopes when gibbs was signed, just thinking he was going to turn this team into a winner right away WAS ASKING TO MUCH !!!!
