Yes I agree with that some what. I'm in the last year of my military career and I'm having a very hard time "playing" hard for them. I knowI won't be here next year so I'm in the process of showcasing my talents for another team...can you blame Champ after the way he was treated??

Yes, DEHog I can blame him. The Redskins were his team last year. He let them down. Thats what really pissed me off about him.

I can't respect that to any degree. I firmly believe that he should be playing at 100% every game. I wouldn't say he didnt give his all when he played for us, I doubt that becuase that would lower his stock. But I bet he did give 110% at that game to see himself. We are all guilty of that, we all sell ourselves to future employers and that such. This game to us is real life to him, the man his to make his money.

Also. You can't compare the pro-bowl to the regular season. That was one game, plus he had a decent coach, and a pass rush. We had neither.[/b]

No blame for DS throwing a truckload of $$ at Dieon instead of Champ?

Hey Chris, I can see your point but he just didn't look like he cared anymore towards the end of the season. I thought he was just banged up some, thats why he was getting burned like that. But when I saw him in the pro bowl just a month after his season ended he didn't look hurt at all. After being plagued by injuries all year then all of a sudden a months rest and he's not injured? Then I started to think that his injuries healed up a while ago, but he just didn't care to be a Redskin no more.

Champ only played for us one year before Deion came on board.... even we didn't know he was gonna be that good at that time........ He didn't warrant Deion money at the time....

Hey DEHog, I think that was the worst move that Danny has made. I just hope he learned from that and won't ever do it again.

I hated Deon and I always will hate Deon. I'm just glad that he's not on that CBS pregame, game coverage, and postgame show no more. I might actually start watching that CBS show again.

Come on.... DG was slowing down those last couple years he was here and anybody who watched games could see that..... if DG was at his prime.... there's no way he loses his job to Bailey..... where mixing plums with raisins now :D

You are right, he didnt want to be a skin anymore. Like I said in previous posts he felt that this organization didn't have any leadership and direction, IMO he was correct in his assessment at THAT TIME.

Come on.... DG was slowing down those last couple years he was here and anybody who watched games could see that..... if DG was at his prime.... there's no way he loses his job to Bailey..... where mixing plums with raisins now

Now....DG was not slowing down that much. IMO at 40 some years old, DG was still an above average CB. He was good enough not to lose games for us. He wasn't bad enough to get replaced by any rookie. He got replaced by a monster of a CB. Now with both of them in their prime DG wins but Bailey was no slouch by any means.

Can anyone in recall in the last 30 years of Redskins history when we had a guy who was a threat to take it to the house on any play like CP. Bobby Mitchell in his prime, but thats long before most remember.

Every play from scrimmage will be a potential highlight reel this year.

Bye-Bye Champ, no regrets.

Green shouldn't have played as long as he did.... Yes we all rooted for him to stay because he was a legacy and we needed something to grasp on to.... but the fact is he played to long and he was slowing down those last couple of years.... Bauman & Champ were starting over him because they were younger and faster at the time..... DG only started 10 games those last 3 years.... the last being Marvin Lewis as the D Coach..... Green wasn't getting it done.... he played too long..... I'd find it hard to call him anything more than average the last couple of years..... It's like saying emmit smith is better than average now.... it's not true.... but his and green's legacy lead us to believe that they'd always be above average...... a case of history playing tricks with our eyes. ;)

D. Green was by no means slow. And I seriously doubt that Bauman was that much faster than him. He may have been 100th of a second faster or some other meaningless crap coaches use to measure a players worth. DG definately wasn't as fast as he used to be, but his technique and ability to munipulate the WR's kept him competitive.

Bauman's 40 time coming out, which was DG last year was a 4.42..... no way DG was coming close to that..... We really haven't even seen Bauman's ability enough to judge wether he's a decent player or not.... He's been in the shadows of Bailey and Smoot and now Springs....

True but DG's technique more than squashes Baumans speed. In football U have to be fast and quick, Baumans 40 time is GREAT, but is he quick? I don't know since he hasn't played much, if he's any good he needs to show it.
