With that being said, I think Beck's ceiling is competent career back up. I also reiterate my point above: if the 'Skins go into next season with Beck as the starter and no "QB of the future" on the team, both Shanahans will not survive the offseason if the team fails to make the playoffs.

I agree with this. If after three seasons we haven't made the playoffs and aren't developing a qb for the future, both Shanahans are likely done here. The bottom line is that Mike is grooming to eventually be a head coach, either here or somewhere else. He isn't going to risk that by not drafting a viable option to John Beck. The guy isn't an idiot.

I wouldn't be surprised if Beck bombs the rest of the season and if the Rams draft a QB in the first round, that Shanahan goes after Bradford. I keep hearing murmurs that he's "enamored" with the guy.
