Is there a way to encourage this loser to go get a tryout at ttiT?

If we can keep him for the right price I'm all for it. If he can find a better deal elsewhere...I am a fan of capitalim. More power to him.
His inability to catch isn't just a fly in the ointment. It means that D's don't far throwing to him because there's no consequence. Our lack of getting turnovers has been killing us. He's a whiny wench who's weakness is a central part of the job of a cornerback. Good riddance. Buchannan can't catch either but he doesn't start.

I think the football stuff is only part of it. The team appears to be focused on high character guys as well, and some of the stuff that's out there about Rogers' immaturity and off-field behavior probably doesn't fit with what the team's plan is.
Didn't help he burned every bridge he encountered on the way out thinking there would be a big payday waiting for him. Said he wanted to play for ttiT. Somebody should have told him they were broke.
+1 The man had no real exit strategy. He just figured he'd ride out his contract and get a huge payday on the other end. Said whatever he wanted to along the way. Very bad idea.
I stuck up a lot for Rogers on THN given how much hate people tended to pour on him, but I think Canes is right about his attitude. After a while I just couldn't believe he kept talking about himself as though he were an elite corner.

They can't even re-sign their own players with the cap trouble they have

We play the Panthers this year. Just watch rogers will shut down Gaffney or wherever is our #2 WR. They have Gamble as their #1 corner.

gafney is likely our #3 WR. Moss #1, AA #2.

I'm pretty sure they have to offer him a contract first, then he'll have to agree to it. It's a process... kind of like catching the ball before trying to run with it.

Who exactly do you root for?

I am being honest. I am realistic. Our Wr core sucks, our o-line blows, we have unproven RB's and a crap QB. Teams are going to stack the box and let John Beck try to beat them and he will fail miserably.

What a fearsome WR core that is. (insert sarcasm here)

You know what I think? Personally Rogers is a QB Dream throw to whomever he's covering cause 70% of the passes our receiver will complete and Carlos hands are like bricks little to no chance of an interception.

Carlos Rogers is going to single handedly beat us by shutting down our #2 receiver (while not picking off a pass). Shudder, you just scared the snot out of me...

I don't know. I think its far from "likely" that AA ends up being our #2 WR. The whole reason they brought in Gaffney, Stallworth, Hankerson, etc; was to upgrade that #2 spot.

Yeah, that deserves acknowledgement!

Yup, I liked Carlos Rogers and never understood all the hate for him. If stickum was still legal he'd be signing a 5 year 50 million dollar deal.
Not having good hands was not a big deal to me. Covering and tackling are more important. Oh well, Josh Wilson should prove to be an upgrade anyway.
Also, our free agent corps IS rather fearsome. Three guys with over 800 yards receiving last year, not to mention Hankerson, Kelly and Paul who are all reported to look great in camp this year.

By letting Rogers sign with the 49ers - it is now apparent that the Redskins did not want Rogers - even for 4 mil
good luck to him

And the fact that they only signed him to a one year contract suggests that maybe they're not that sure about him either? Poor old Carlos just can't get any respect, can he? Farewell Mr Rogers - you were above average, but not elite.

Yeah, it appears Rogers has a higher opinion of his play than the rest of the NFL.
I'm sure this was very humbling for him.

It's "hate." Right. Hyperbole is so powerful at getting people to change their minds or recognize their shortcomings. Not.

No hate. Carlos Rogers is a talented cover corner, with a very high percentage of passes defensed, and is a solid tackler... the problem is, no one is afraid to throw at him... If 60% of the passes he gets both hands on are picked, he becomes an all world shut down corner. Instead, he has hands of stone, gets no respect from opposing quarterbacks, and is no more effective than any average CB.
It's analogous to waiting for Jason Campbell, with all of his talent, to do 3 things... 1: Hit a receiver in stride, 2: Develop pocket awareness, and, 3: Develop some sense of urgency in the closing throes of the 4th quarter, with the game on the line. Neither happened, therefore, he never became the elite quarterback that his talent suggested he should be. The difference is, all Carlos had to do was hold onto the darned ball when he got his hands on it. His task was much simpler than Jason's.
Not hate. Just fact. That Carlos continued to insist that he is a top tier CB without being able to force QB's to account for him was almost a joke. Just carma.
