This is my fault, after 10 seconds I ran out of opinions on Beck and Brennan...

Back to Beck...
Redskins Insider view...
Bottom line... cut the kid some slack. He has an uphill run, and is still 4th on the chart.

There is no way that Shanahan (OR Allen) are cutting Beck to bring back Brennan - NO WAY
Beck might be staying here but only if Shanahan thinks that Grossman might not be able to 'handle' being #2 - after what we saw, I believe we have our 2 QBs and that's it for this season

At the moment, Bartel is the 3, and there are rumors that he has been pushing Grossman. Beck has a long way to go...

I'm not so sure about that with McNabb's injury history.

Let me rephrase - I just don't think that either Kyle or Mike are bringing Brennan back - he had a chance and they seemed to think he was not a good fit here
I just don't think they'll carry 3 QBs but I agree, given the injury and age of McNabb, they might - practice squad ???

He was a casualty of the Dan and Vinny show of the past few years! I can see why Shanahan didn't want him. Same reason that Gibbs didn't want Ramsey. Both young QB's were completely shell shocked after multiple seasons of offensive changes and sack totals that would make any O-line blush!
Cut the kid some slack! If Oakland can give him any sort of a line to work with, he'll be pretty good there.
Dude, we have had this argument. You know he sucks, everyone knows he sucks. Hell even Oakland knows he sucks but Old Al had to do something to keep people buying tickets.
He will amount to absolutely nothing in Oakland. He is a back up QB and nothing more. The talent is just not there. Even when he had time he just doesn't have the downfield accuracy to hit receivers in stride.
If I was the front office I would have told him we are cutting his pay 75% and making him a back up. He would have shrugged his shoulders and mumbled something but nobody would understand or care.
Jason Campbell is a stud. ATX_Skins you are WAY off on your analysis that he is a bad QB. We could have put any QB in that system under Dan and Vinny and they wouldn't have amounted to anything either. Facts speaking, JC was a top 15 QB in the league with a bottom 5 O-Line, and middle of the pack receivers, at best. The dude just needed to have a chance to throw the ball, and someone who knew what he was doing as a coach. If Shanahan had been there at the beginning, you would be all up JC's butt right now as he was beginning his 2nd or 3rd pro-bowl season.

Wow!!! Area3021, I'm a Jason Campbell sympathizer myself, but the Pro Bowl??? I don't know about all that! I always thought he could be a solid QB who led us to victory, similar to a Mark Rypien, but to say he'd be a pro bowler for 2 to 3 straight seasons is putting him in some serisously high society. That's putting Campbell up there with the likes of Brees and Manning!
I'll always say that I thought Campbell got a raw deal here, but come on, get serious! He was never going to be a superstar!

He has all of the tools to be a superstar. 6'4" - 230ish Laser Rocket Arm. Whether it was fake or not that commercial where he threw a ball then hit it mid air with another ball to two receivers was TIIIIIGHT. Anyhow, He hasn't had the same coordinator since high school, always got lit up before he even had a chance to become comfortable in the pocket, and only ever had one legitimate deep threat receiver(who's only 5'8") I have always thought Peyton is the best quarterback in the league hands down, but put him in the same situation JC was in and tell me he puts up the same numbers. How many times has Peyton even been hit in his entire career? i'd bet JC was hit more times last year than Peyton has since he entered the league. Same with Brees. Talent levels around those elite QB's were also so incredibly elevated to that of my beloved Skins. I'm a big McNabb fan(now that he's in DC) and I definitely think we have upgraded at most every position, QB included hands down, but to say that Campbell isn't a top tier talented quarterback is ridiculous.
Of course he won't do anything in Oakland, IT'S THE RAIDERS. They're last QB was kickin it with Lil Wayne and got arrested for sippin' on the sizzurp. Cough Syrup addict? I mean come on you have $38,000,000, you can afford coke. The Raiders suck, and Campbell won't perform their either. I feel bad that someone with that much talent and character got the tremendous shaft job that he did. BOOM.

Many of the points that you are making are similar to the points that I have constantly made. Still, I think you may be over evaluating Campbell's overall ability in here. Of course Peyton wouldn't have gone to a super bowl with a supporting cast like the 2010 Redskins! But, does he win more than 4 games? You better believe it!
I will agree with you that given his new team, Campbell is back in another no win situation! The guy can't catch a break in this league! Still, I don't think he was ever going to be elite, just serviceable.

Speaking of JC real quick.. what good is a rocket arm if your not accurate? Why hold on to the ball when 100 defenders are coming at you and not throw it out of bounds? I agree he won't get a good chance in Oakland but to say he's a probowl QB is stretching it fam. Also, regarding putting any QB in that system and still failing, I honestly beg to differ.. you put Brady/Drew/Manning/Philip back there and they'll find a way to make plays... now if you said put any QB in JC's class, that would make more sense and I'd agree they would fail. Hey look, I defended the guy until I was black and blue in the face but holding on to the ball well after you realize your gonna get killed was too much for me.
Matter of fact, I'll put it like this to sum up what I'm trying to say.. Great arm, no accuracy, and no common sense = Jeff George.. both with the Redskins and Raiders too

I guess the Cult of Colt would rather talk about JC haha Brennan will never don another redskins uniform unless he goes out and buys one himself. I wish CB all the luck, but I'd rather have a legitimate QB here in DC.

See, I bought a Steven Davis jersey back in the day and the next year he got traded. My suggestion is to put your Campbell jersey on E-bay or craigslist. Maybe you could even donate it to the flood victims in Pakistan. Nobody there knows who he is so they won't be offended. Good luck!

Ok, let's talk about big CB. Dude made undeniable history at Hawaii....wait.... Hawaii??? There's a college in Hawaii? what's the most popular major? pig roasting? Hula dancing? What conference is Hawaii in again? The Rainbow 8 with Alaska Southern and Canada Tech? Seriously he's barely 6'0" tall (even wearing those hidden 3in. heels that Tom Cruise does) He can't see over the line of scrimmage. He's one of those amazing college players who should've done better in school or just gone back and been a coach somewhere. Met the dude, real cool, but he just doesn't seem to be cut from an NFL caliber cloth. Bartel is pretty awful too, but thankfully we're set with McNabb and Grossy backing him up.

Whether he will make it here or not, he had a great college career. His previous peers couldn't set all the records he did, 31 of them if I recall. It's not lookin bright for his NFL future, but you cannot deny his college numbers.

Brennan did have a great college career, but like previously stated, he didn't play anybody. If he had been in the SEC, Pac 10, hell i'll even say the ACC, it's questionable at best that he puts up those kind of numbers over the span of a career. If Tim Tebow had been playing Galludet 40 times he would have probably set every college record out there. I'll even throw in some Skins history, who was that quarterback we selected in the first round sometime in the early 90's? Heath something? Some guy who was considered at the time to be the best college quarterback of all time? That worked out real well, I think Mr. Shuler is a senator or something. Point is, college greatness doesn't necessarily compute. Let's give John Beck a chance, he's not gonna play anyway and at least hes actually seen a little bit of action in league. Bartel is a complete scrub, fact.

You missed what I said. Stop using generic arguments and actually respond to what's in front of you. I said in his college days, to those standards, he was above his peers. To deny or trivialize that in the college ranks is ludicrous. I never mentioned how well that transcends to the NFL. You can throw out all the skins history, or whatever other history you want, but the fact is that he was above his peers in college.
