I would've absolutely benched JC. The way I look at we have 2 other QBs who couldn't have possibly played any worse than JC did yesterday.

Man I am a Jason Campbell fan and really wanted to see him get an opportunity to prove his critics wrong this season. I think he deserves the chance to prove that he can be a solid QB. And personally I hate to see a first round pick wasted.

So far this season though, I think its pretty hard to argue that he has been a "good" QB. He's been average at best, and that first half Sunday was as bad as he has ever played.

If this is as good as it gets with Campbell, we would be stupid not to start looking for a new QB next season.

I'm still hoping Campbell turns it around and shuts everybody up. He seems like a good guy, and I think even the so-called "haters" would be cheering for him.

I was a huge JC supporter for a long time, but I 'm not anymore. There's a couple things I've noticed about him that I don't think he'll ever be able to improve. He's way too slow at finding his receivers and he'll therefore never have a quick release. If you notice how every time he drops back to pass he stands there for what seems like forever and he still doesn't throw the ball. This causes him to end up having the scramble around and/or get sacked. We need a QB who can read Ds faster, find his receivers faster, and get rid of the ball quicker. JC will never be that guy.

I hate to say this but I was almost hoping we would have lost to force the issue of removing Soup from the lineup. Don't judge JC on the second half or the next couple games against God-awful competition. Realize these things when we lose late in the season against good quality teams. Maybe if we lose enough we'll get a high QB pick and hopefully be like the Ravens last year w/Flacco.

Yesterday was probably one of the most important performances in his young career.

Think about it.
JC was having a terrible first half. Then coming out in the second half and pulling out a win.

Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
Very powerful thing.
To know you can face adversity in the worst of times and still win.

All we need now is for JC to cut the mistakes and keep up his agressive play. He showed character yesterday. So huge win for morale and confidence.

One of the best things yesterday was Zorn learning that getting away from the gameplan and making adjustments based off what the defense is giving was huge.

This will be a week where we will probably have to fight for it. But a week we can win.

I have to say that he shows something by hanging in there after that horrible first half...(I'm just not sure that "something" is necessarily a good something). I mean to say that I think this guy is slightly dense ... in his presser he says up till yesterday he was having a pretty good year. Pretty good after the Lions game? Said he wasn't worried about being benched ... the guy is just out there on a different plane of existence.

Frankly, a better team would have had this game so far in the bag at the half that John Elway wouldn't have been able to engineer a comeback. It should have been 28 nothing. So Jason's miracle 16 points against that putrid defense ain't exactly champagne time. Once again, it was simply a case of the oppositions defense being more inept than the Redskins offense for a couple of plays ... just like the Rams were.

Anyone who doesn't see the futility in continuing this failed madness is in total denial. Unfortunately, that includes the head coach.

But all that is going to come to an end next week with the Panthers. These guys are a good team struggling, and this clueless team is the cupcake the Panthers need, coming off a buy week ... they played Philly, Atlanta, and Dallas .... not Rams, Lions and Bucs.

If the Redskins continue playing the way they have ... and there is no reason to believe they won't ... they're going to get their teeth knocked out in Carolina, and the defense won't be able to save the day.

'Young career'? He's been here for five years. That's not young.

As far as the poll, I would have benched Campbell after the audible in the Giant game when he audibled to an off-tackle running play on 3rd-and-8 because, in my view, he was afraid of the Giants pass rush.

Campbell's first half performance against the Bucs was jaw-droppingly bad. But that's par for the course for the last few years, when Campbell was given chance after chance after such bad performances, so really it wasn't that surprising. Just more of the same.

One thing that WAS different, however, was that pass to Moss. What a big surprise! If Campbell can keep making plays like that, he can stay as far as I'm concerned. But if he doesn't, he needs to get yanked, just like any other non-performing player. Of course, in this utterly disfunctional organization, I doubt if that will happen.

It IS an eternity. Someday some psychologist/Redskins-fan will have to write a book about the denial present in the fans and management of this organization during Campbell's five year reign of mediocrity. It's really unprecedented.

I do not understand all of the criticism towards JC. I believe that up to this point in the season he has played very well. Even against the Bucs i think he played a good game. He threw it deep on a pick because he wanted to make a play and earn his teammates and fans respect. Jason campbell played well against them and up to this point I would say he is a top 10 quarterback.
I also believe that Campbell is a great quarterback and leader for this team. Through all of the criticism he has taken and even thoughts of changiong quarterbacks he has remained silent and gone to work and layed well. He is a good quarterback and if we lose him anytime soon it will hurt our team. All he needs is some confidence and he will perform at a higher level.

Going deep isn't just throwing deep and hoping for the best. Sometimes there is luck involved, but most of it is putting where the WR has a chance to catch it and the defenders can't (or it's difficult). Also, it's knowing when there's man-to-man coverage and when there's safety help.

He throws in double and triple coverages too often. He doesn't make tough, semi-risky throws. Defenses are too good to only throw to wide-open receivers.

I know where not comparing him to Brett Favre, but look at how he fits balls in, and how good his timing is.

Let's not forget, the only reason why Tampa Bay had a shot was because of his TOs.

The throw to Santana was nice, but it was his first good one since the Saints last year.

Let's not neglect how much responsibility the QB has in the NFL. They read defenses. If they don't call audibles, read blitzes for hot routes, or adjust blocking schemes, they end up getting sacked, throwing picks or throwing the ball too late. All of which, JC does more than he makes plays.

Take a look at tonight's game. They were getting pressure on Favre and he kept on burning the blitz. So they have to back off and they are so scared of the passing attack that the Vikings don't even rush four anymore.

I think defenses know that it pays off more than it costs them to blitz JC.

One last thing, let's not forget David Carr Syndrome. For years, everyone thought Houston's O-line was horrible. He was leading the league in sacks.

Once they changed QBs, they seemed to block so much better and the offense seemed to run so much better.

And no, it's not all JC's fault. Our secondary is terrible, CP is getting worn down in his career and execution even from our good players has been questionable.

But JC has never put fear in defenses.

Ok, how to address this delusional post......

It just goes to show how biased you are in that you truly believe JC played well against the bucs. What are your standards? Look at what other QBs have done against the Bucs: in week one, Romo threw for 353 yards, 3 TDs, and a 140+ QB rating; in week 2 Edwards threw for 230 yards, 2 TDs, and a 98 QB rating; in week 3 Eli (in limited play) threw for 164 yards (while his RBs ran 50+ times), 2 TDs, and a 104 QB Rating. Then in week 4, JC threw for 170 yards, 3 INTs, a fumble inside the 10, and a 70 QB rating. All Buc points came off JC TOs. Do you really think that JC had better games than any of those 3? Knowing you, you probably do...... ROTFALMAO

In 4 games this year, JC has played against 3 of the worst defenses in the league.......and he has played horribly. What is going to happen when we play an average defense ---- but I am sure you will continue to have excuses for those games as well.

You are really begining to make absolutely no sense, and I think that is your intent; to get a rise out of people.....especially when you tried to repost this as a separate subject in the forum.

if by pay you mean either a sack or an incomplete pass then yes, he makes them pay all the time.

While Campbell gets a lot of unwarranted criticism for the overall, overwhelming failures of our offense...to say he's a top 10 quarterback? That's crazy talk.

You're probably the only one who thinks he's "great"; a great quarterback is someone like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, or Tom Brady.

Campbell isn't close to being great.

So what do propose?

What alternative is there?
This is the season already. We sent Brennan to the practice Squad. If Collins was the answer he would have been inserted already.

Do you think you are some kind of genius? Like you see something we all do not already see?

The difference is I see that this thing can be saved. We are sitting at 2-2.
The offense is slowly getting better. Slower then we would all like.
Nevertheless I think JC is getting better.
JC showed alot of character pulling that win out. Our defense gets alot of credit as well. Cooley and Moss had a good game too.
