They've got two home games -- vs. NO and ARZ -- to right this thing.

If not, the next two -- @ DAL and @ PHI -- are going to be BRU-TAL.

Can you imagine what it'll be like if they're 1-4 or *gasp* 0-5?

I like the pain up front, get it fixed and finish strong. I wish that would happen, rather than get wins then get blown up later and end the season scratching our heads again. I have faith in the personnel, players, even the owner, that we, yes WE will get the ship tracking in the right direction. I just don't know how much pain and suffering we have to endure to get there, but we will get there.

Winning 1 of the next 4 is still not a nightmare we might win 2 and that would be great if we are 1-2 in our division (and 2-3 overall) after 5.

The giants were 0-2 last year and had given up about 40 points - they did not do too bad over the rest of the season and we have a better group this year than they did last year.

got to keep the faith and maybe JC will be the great QB that everyone expected - he just looks slow to me and he just does not seem to have the skill set to be as great as some expected. This is not about the different offensive co-ordinators this is a guy that is just not looking like he can become a great NFL QB. I will say this - he is our best hope because Brennan will not be able to handle the speed of the game and Collins is (and always will be) just a very good back-up QB

Brennan is Gold my man... But we cannot Ramsey him out there just yet, we need Zorn to work his mojo and develop Brennen into a FaVre or even a Hasslebald

cleg,

The last sentence was not meant that you should stop being a Redskins fan. I just didn't say it right. What I tried to say was IF you decided to be a fan for another team, that you would go through the same bad times with that team to get to the good times. Look at Miami, they are still the only team to go undefeated and win the Super Bowl. Where are they now? Hoping to win at least 1 game so as to not be an 0 - 16 team. Their celebration when they won their only game last year was almost equal to the celebration for winning the Super Bowl. The Cardinals used to be a real powerhouse, now they are the bottom of their division and have been for years. The Raiders were the meanest team on earth for several years, now they are just plain bad. San Francisco was great during the Montana and Young years, now their starting quarterback is a relatively unknown journeyman and they may be last years Miami.

Look at the history of every team in the NFL and you will find years where they are among the worst teams in the league and other years where they are among the best.

Unfortunately since Gibb I this has been the Redskins bad years. But keep the faith, it will change.

I forgot to answer your question. It never ends!! There is always next year.

I would suggest to everyone to watch the Zorn interview on Redskins.com. The man knows he made mistakes and he admits to them. He said he wished he could have some of the calls he made back. The man can teach as well as learn. Have a little patience and you will see that Zorn will improve dramatically as the season goes along.

JSPB22 wrote:Lot's of good points Ray, but on the deep ball to Moss, JC was nearly sacked. The defender had a handful of his jersey, but he managed to pull away. That is why he was late on that throw. I agree with most of the other analysis, though.

Thanks.

Go check out Zorn's 9-5 presser, he goes over that play. In short, he said that JC got pressure,,,avoided it, but then didn't throw it immediately....instead, he kinda danced a bit looking to see if there was more pressure coming instead of throwing it, and that's why the play didn't end up a TD. That was my observation too....he had the opportunity to make that play and didn't. Zorn was very clear about that point.

Zorn also made a point to say that the one sack was on Jason and not the o-lne.

In fact, after watching that presser, I'm liking Zorn, and I think he's going to fix things, one way or the other. He knows his stuff, and I think he's going to be a fine head coach.

If you read between the lines, what he was really saying is that Jason didn't get it done on a couple of big plays, and that you just can't miss those opportunities when you get them.

It was interesting to hear him say that he doesn't think JC will ever become a Steve Young. Not that very many people ever do, but it makes you wonder how much Zorn truely believes in his QB.

Right now, I am on the fence about JC. I hope he proves me wrong.

DEHog wrote:The thing that worries me the most about this team is the play of the o-line all of them are over 30…except Heyer and in my opinion he did not show why he is starting over Jansen last night. They looked old last night. We play in a division with some great defenses. Last night it just looked like the Giants just pushed us aside on their way the beat up the real bullies Dallas and Philly. I don’t see how we compete in our division with the current state of our o-line. The way Portis runs he should be having 1500+ every year??

The said truth is that DEHog is correct. Our o-line is old and getting worse and no one is around who can step up. I don't think Zorn can do anything about it. I also think Campbell is on his way to being a bust (at least with this line) and that Collins is probably our best QB-- the stats overwhelmingly concur (with the obvious). Frankly, Gibbs has to take the blame for the O-line and also Campbell. He doesn't get a pass on this one.

Yes, that was interesting. And the way he said it was very revealing too.

Like he was thinking to himself 'are you kidding me? Do you see this guy play? Steve Young? How ridiculous.'

I have had a very strong feeling right since the H of F game that Colt Brennan is Zorn`s guy and for what its worth he`s mine too. JC looked very poor against the Giants - he holds the ball way too long , seems indecisive and locked on one or 2 options only for passing. I don`t think he gets this offense at all - leadership is impossible when you`re as ineffective as he was with what he was doing. Furthermore, TC managed to find more receivers at the end of last season when JC was injured - I`m not making excuses for JC any more - I`m not sure he`s going to cut it - I think we`re set for a QB change very soon! Just my opinion.
Brennan seems to have that extra ingredient of finding a way to get things done - something about him makes you feel optimistic - the players seem to buy into what he`s doing too - not sure they feel the same way about JC - what have they seen on the training field or in the locker room to make them feel that way?

There were a lot of things going on with our team that I didn't like. The only thing that worked well in the first half was our ko return unit. That's probably because of all the practice they were getting. I agree Zorn's debut was less than stellar. However, the master of the WC offense Bill Walsh started his head coaching career 2-14 and then 6-10. We got one heckuva early schedule so the record may not be pretty early on. I expect that. If they overachieve and we start say 3-3 I will be ecstatic.

We have Heyer (who is obviously an arguable starter since he took Jansen's job) and the staff is high on Rinehart, too. That's possible 2 out of 5 that could be ready to start by next season. If we were to address it again next year, that's 3/5, which is over 1/2. Granted, the FO could address the o-line quicker, but all of this "not addressing the o-line" crap is just that, crap. I wasn't happy with the lack of o-line attention inthe off-season, but don't say it's not present at all, because it is. As a side note, quality interior lineman are said to be plentiful in the later rounds, so the FO doesn't have to use their 1st round every year on lineman.
