It's important to remember that the reputation (somewhat deserved) of the Redskins is such that they are going to be mentioned in virtually every free-agent scenario, especially by the players themselves who hope to create a sense of "oh no we've got to outspend Snyder" panic.

More from PFT...
'SKINS OUT, SAINTS IN FOR BLY
A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that the Redskins have dropped out of the bidding for Lions cornerback Dre' Bly. Taking their place, we're told, are the Saints.
The other serious suitor is the Denver Broncos. We're told that the deal would involve tackle George Foster and a third-round pick, or Foster and running back Tatum Bell.
The Broncos, we're told, currently are the favorites to land Bly.
Stay tuned.

Good, that's one overrated and probably overpaid cornerback off the market, and not coming to Washington.

i am glad we didn't trade for him, the whole Portis for Bly rumor was a bit annoying!

Man, the Lions got the better end of the deal. The Broncos are stupid for making that trade.

Really? Bell, Forster and a 5th for a top ten corner?

And they have shown that they can plug any RB in there and win.

They gave up two players (1 have over 1000 yards rushing and close to a 5 ypc avg. last year) and a pick, for a guy they wasn't going to keep on the roster any way

(means fans aren't calling fpr Millens head as long as they spin it right) Bly is over 30

Matt Millen may finally understand his job up there in Detroit. I say may because now they have a answer if Jones isn't ready to go when the season starts and they got imediate help on the O-line, that tells me Millen is trying to find a way to draft another WR with his first pick
