I've never been a doubter, never. Not in the 80's, 90-91, '05, and not even when we're down 13-0 in the 4th quarter. Gibbs could run circles around any of you clowns that are bashing a HALL OF FAME COACH. All hail the Redskins and one of the Greatest NFL Coaches ever!

Gibbs, you wiley guy! you had me fooled!

die cowboys die wrote:hey guys, how about instead of piling on and kicking me while i'm down, admitting that the game looked pretty lousy for about 55 minutes. the fact is, there is no way we will be able to pull out a majority of games like that. gibbs will be the first one to tell you that. i'll eat however much crow you want and i admit i deserve it. but let's not pretend this was a "convincing" victory.
No it wasnt convincing, but this hopefully could give us somthing to build on, if nothing else some confidence! I think confidence can do a lot for a team. And reguardless we are 2-0 going into a bye! Now we just need to rest up and get some things straight on offense. Hilarioius how everyone was posting all that noise!

I was upset with the way game was going also, but your attempt to regain your pride is almost as pathetic as the words you wrote to open this thread.
Fire joe gibbs?
pretty ridiculous.

it's clear who wants to be here and who don't.
dcd was one of the cooler user names. just not one of the cooler headed fans. with a thread titled like this, he should change his name to gopukesgo. you can't say anything at this point to argue any different. get lost. i hear julius jones needs a fan club.

that post was ridiculous...I disagreed with benching Ramsey, but Gibbs is an excellent coach.
lol...what a time to start this thread

What you did was pretty extreme man. I dont know how old you are but I wasn't around for most of Gibbs era and I even have faith in the cat. We still got kinks and stuff to work out but to fire the one guy who has been halfway decent in the past decade is extreme.
I know you were probally heated but you should have waited till we lost the game to post something like this. It would have been forgotten a lot quicker.

I doubt he'll be gone forever, it may be a while. It all depends on how long this thread stays on the front page.

Hey, I give dcd some credit. There were others who posted similar comments before the game ended. They came back and used the "edit" feature to destroy all the evidence of what they posted. Dcd stuck around, admitted his mistake, and is taking the heat.

But "Fire Gibbs" ?? I've disagreed with some thigns he has done (like I did with Spurrier, Marty and Norv) but I don't think I'd ever call for Gibbs to be fired. I'm a Gibbs fan even if I disagree with him sometimes. Tonight is exhibit A of why that is (and why he shows me that when I disagree with him, i'm usually wrong).

thank you, snout. i'll admit my mouse was hovering above that "edit" button! but i chose not to edit it.
for this game, i was wrong. i'm glad i was wrong. i want us to win. i love the redskins. but there is still reason to be pretty concerned. bottom line is, we won't really know anything until more of this season has gone along. we could go 16-0 and win the next 4 superbowls, in which case i'll be guilty of making a really stupid comment out of incredible frustration when we were playing like crap against my most hated foes. or, we could go 2-14 in which case i'll look like a prophet.
right now, this game is thrilling but it means nothing. it was a great win but there's no way one can argue that it inspires a great deal of confidence.

you are supposed to be on the staff here? grow up. what kind of childish thinking says that you must blindly believe in your team in order to cheer for them? that's nonsense, there is no way it makes any possible sense. if you can't understand that a fan can have passion for his team while disagreeing with their decisions, you have no business being on the staff of any fan site. i love my team so much that so see them play the way they did in the first 55 minutes of the game drives me absolutely insane. that doesn't mean i hate the team. it hurts me too much to see them play that way. what's so hard to understand about that??

no, that is an incredibly insulting post. i watch every game to the very end, no matter how bad the score is. i'm not fortunate enough to make it out to too many games at fedex, but when i have gone, i come home not being able to speak for a week because i have been cheering and screaming so loud the entire game-- and that is not an exaggeration. i was at a cowboys game in 2001 where we were down by at least 2 scores with like less than a minute left. i stayed and cheered my lungs out as we tried for an onside kick with no real hope of victory.
i also got pissed off and yelled at the people around me for not booing the cowboys and getting things loud when they needed to be. insult my opinions about what is best for the team all you want, but don't you dare ever question my passion for this team.

ok. i said you are a fair weather fan. and you proved it by starting a 'gibbs should be fired' thread. now you don't want your passion to be questioned??? how do you like your crow? and yep, on the staff here, you don't like it? i suggest you leave. i'm here to stay. and i don't pick fights. but when someone who has exactly squat as nfl credentiails, says gibbis should be fired on a redskins message board, i consider them as a troll.

pas·sion
n.
1. A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger.
2.
1. Ardent love.
2. Strong sexual desire; lust.
3. The object of such love or desire.
3.
1. Boundless enthusiasm: His skills as a player don't quite match his passion for the game.
2. The object of such enthusiasm: Soccer is her passion.
4.
An abandoned display of emotion, especially of anger: He's been known to fly into a passion without warning.
since i'm having to go back to grade school vocab lessons here, i'll try to make my point again. i am a passionate fan. a result of that is when my team looks like CRAP for 55 minutes, i might be inclined to "fly into a passion without warning".
as for suggesting that i'm a troll, hailskins, you must not be doing your job, since you have clearly never read a single one of my posts until now. i probably spend a third of my waking life thinking about the redskins.
