This just in from SkinsJock - who happens to be in Miami for a boat show and now I find out that apart from dodging a bloody hurricane I might not be able to even see tonight's game because the NFL has some stupid policy about not competing in the "loacl area" during high school games!!!! -
oh well! Guess I'll have to go look at the uglies on South Beach, but first, here's my picks:
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati – Bengals
Detroit at Cleveland – Lions
Indianapolis at Houston – Colts
Kansas City at Miami – Chiefs
Green Bay at Minnesota – Packers
San Diego at Philadelphia – Eagles
New Orleans at St. Louis – Saints
San Francisco at Washington – Skins
Dallas at Seattle – Seahawks
Tennessee at Arizona – Cards
Baltimore at Chicago – Ravens
Denver at New York Giants – Broncos
Buffalo at Oakland – Raiders
New York Jets at Atlanta - Falcons

Because of Hurricane Wilma, the National Football League has rescheduled Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins for Friday (tomorrow) night. The game will be televised on CBS affiliates in Miami and Kansas City, but there will be no national telecast. Instead, a tape of the game will be rebroadcast on the NFL’s cable network on Sunday.
Why would the NFL not want to televise a game nationally? League spokesman Greg Aiello told the press
We are not extending the telecast to more markets because we want to adhere as closely as possible to the spirit of our longstanding policy not to conflict with high school and college football during their seasons [which means Friday night and Saturday]

I will post TOTALS every four weeks.
Thanks RiC! I did not "officially" begin here until the 3rd (maybe 4?) week but have been keeping track and have these results to date:
Week 1 = 9-7; Week 2 = 6-10; week 3 = 11-3; week 4 = 10-4; week 5 = 8-6 and week 6 = 11-3 for a total of 55-33.

We could set a 6:00 CST deadline on Tuesday, like I have to meet for the Hognosticator column to make things fair

Almost everybody got the Chiefs as the winner on Friday. There are plenty of games on Sunday and Monday to catch on to JSPB22.
Please note that while we decide on the official deadline for the submissions of Hognostications for the coming weks in
THIS other thread/Poll, we are still accepting Hognostications
PRIOR to the rest of the games to be played on Sunday and Monday THIS WEEK 7.

Denver and San Diego let me down big time, and I can't believe that Green Bay blew a 17 point lead to Minnesota. I need Atlanta to win, just so I can go .500 for the week.

OK guys it was a brutally unpredictable week. Everybody is picking Atlanta to win. So, the relative positions among us will not change regardless of the outcome. We all simply would get deeper in the hole if Atlanta loses.
Please check my numbers because I only know how to count up to ten with my fingers (20 if I use my toes).
Congratulations to CLL, Joebagadonuts and SkinsJock for being on top. The Real Hognosticator was happy with our Skins win and the Pukes loss. That should be enough for all of us as well.

Punu, Scooter and spudstr04, among others, deserted us this week. I hope they come back. It has come down to the survival of the fittest and we are not even half-way through the season!

I'm with you on those and Buffalo and Tennessee as well.
Who knew McNair wasn't making the trip?
The three you mentioned all blew late leads!

I'm only 5 games behind the Hognosticator, the only other guy bold enough to make picks early, and stick to the results of such. Among the men of honor, I'm only 5 back. BTW - Where are you hiding your running total??? Show us your (Hognostications) shame, RiC.

It is called modesty and humbleness. But if you insist:
Redskin in Canada:
Weeks 1 to 4: 38 - 22
Week 5: 09 - 05
Week 6: 07 - 07
Weeks 1 to 6: 54 - 34 (same score to Texas Hog's)
If we add the results for week 7 without today's game:
Week 7: 08 - 05
Weeks 1 to 7 (with one game pending):
62 - 39
Not to worry, ALL scores are posted every four weeks. We will post overall totals next week.
By the way, I am often among the first three to post my predictions in all hognostication threads. Please check them before you define the term "courage" by that standard.
That is why we have another Poll thread to receive input on this issue. I am still waiting for ALL views on that topic.

Thanks for all your effort here RiC! I still get a kick out of the "excuses" each week! BTW, when you use your toes - is it left to right or right to left?

I see Im back where I belong

.
Im going to have to do better to keep up with you guys. I had some people who weren't supposed to play sneak in at the last minute and screw me. R. Moss and McNair hurt me the most.

Excuses are great. I love them, including mine.
The toes go from left to right with my right oot and from right to left on my left foot, or the other way around. I forgot. Wait untile next week to remember how it is done.
But even then, it is not fool-proof.

Hognostications NFL Week 8

by Redskin in Canada
I have given some thought to the deadline for the submission of Hognostications every week. According to the Poll, the majority feel that it should be acceptable to anybody to change any prediction PRIOR to any game. The minority feels that there should be some kind of cut-off period.
I am a democratic person, so I will go with the majority and accept ANY change PRIOR to ANY game. But I will also ask that as a matter of PREFERENCE you agree to make any changes PRIOR to the day when the first game of the week is played. No penalties for changes the same day, just a matter of fairness to those that posted before and have no chance to make changes the same day of the game.
Texas Hog is entitled to make any changes in the thread, even if he does not or can not make changes in his Exclusive Article for several logistic reasons. He still has that same option available to him as anybody else. Hopefully, this choice will achieve support from all in practice.
Having gotten this issue out of the way, I am openning the thread for posts on Week 8 in case anybody is bold enough to post his/her Hognostications -PRIOR- to Texas Hog.

My picks in progress:
Dallas (they will come back after a long reprimand by Parcells)
Chicago (they are playing better and the D is solid)
Houston (it is time and Dilfer is in trouble)
Cincinnati (at home with too much to re-establish themselves after Pitt)
Jacksonville (away win, great D, No Martz)
Carolina (at home, they are not Green Bay)
Oakland (R. Moss is back and the running game is good)
Washington (need I say anything?)
San Diego (at home and they are better than their record shows)
New Orleans (playing "at home" against a team that is hurt)
Denver (they will rebound at home from a painful loss, tough day for Donovan)
Tampa Bay (it is their turn to punish the guys in the West coast Bay)
New England (It is still Brady)
Pittsburgh (playoff contender, no Ray Lewis)
