Yes Sherlock, hopefully neither will be starting but the rumor is that the front office knows WHO will be starting. Yes its a rumor but one that would be nice to hear if its validated. Having the confidence in who they want and the plan on how to get him this early would be exciting

I agree with your opinion. Its just not a "fact" until both of those guys are off the roster.

Coach of the South squad in Saturday's game, Shanahan answered questions about Weeden's 28-year-old maturity throughout the week. He was asked about the quarterback's age three times in a 20-minute press conference Wednesday night. No questions were asked about any other Senior Bowl quarterback during that interview session.
“His arm strength will be right with the best of them. He can probably pick it up and throw 70 yards down the field. He can make all the throws,” said Shanahan.
Redskins quarterbacks coach Matt LaFleur worked throughout the week with Weeden on his ball-handling, footwork and cadence. LaFleur liked what he saw, especially Weeden's ability to adjust to taking snaps under center.
“In college, they're always in shotgun. Here, 80 percent of our plays are from under center, but he was actually very natural at it,” said LaFleur. “I was very impressed with how fluid he is. And he can really throw it, one of the best I've been around.”
The Redskins don't have a Hall of Famer at quarterback currently, and Shanahan has drafted a 27-year-old rookie before in former Denver Broncos running back Mike Anderson.
“When it comes do a guy who played baseball (like Weeden), you just have to look at all scenarios,” Shanahan. “Does he have the passion? What type of athlete he is? What type of leader is he? You just have to project him to your scheme. It really comes down to if a guy can help your football team win. You have to evaluate it and obviously draft accordingly.
“That's why it's a great for a guy like me to be around a quarterback like this for a few days,” Shanahan added. “You get to see his passion, his accountability and how he relates to the other players.”

I haven't heard that, but it has some possibilities. I don't think the Pats would hesitate to make a move like that. They have the 27th and 31/32 picks this year though. That's a big drop from #6. Maybe if they threw in a 2d or 3d rounder in the deal.

This is what the Redskins will do in the draft, and you heard it here first because no one is even thinking it. Washington trades the 6th pick overall and the 38th pick overall to the Patriots. In return the Redskins recieve the Patriots 28th pick, their 31/32 pick, both of their late second round picks, and QB Ryan Mallet. Then the Reskins trade the higher second round pick (to Washington via Patriots via Raiders) back for a later 2nd and a late 3rd. This gives Washington two picks in each of the first four rounds, and a rookie QB with a year of Brady / Bellicheck grooming. Then they draft 1rst round OT and WR... 2nd round OG and ILB... 3rd round C and SS... 4th round FS and DE... 5th round TE... 6th round PK ...and 7th round FB. This is very doable. Patriots would love to have the 6th pick in each of the first two rounds.

Unlikely that the whole city would be excited for Flynn. There seems to be a considerable talk about Manning coming to DC now, who knows what's going on in the mind of Shanahan. Sometimes I question if even he does.
