He may get a few more shots as the season wears on, but at this point Lloyd is definitely in a steep uphill battle to save even a roster spot.
Any idea on the cap hit of letting him go? They gotta be looking at that. Then again maybe the cap guru 1nik can address it, though I am sure he probably has somewhere.
Hail to the Redskins!

Thanks Fios, it covers the cap for this year but I didn't see it cover the cost of cutting him. I was thinking it might be 5-6 mil as a guess based on that it said 1.8 mil was prorated bonuses and I think he's in the 2nd year of a 5 year contract, but that was just a guess.
I defended him all off season, but I'm officially disappointed in him now so far this year. I would have been satisfied w/ a little, but man, so far it's nothing.
Hail to the Redskins!

True or false: if it wasn't for his cap-killing signing bonus (great move, front office) B-Lloyd would have been cut by now.
Jason La Canfora: I think that's a double truth"

JLC wrong again...
1. If The rock never plays another down Redskins fans won't forget him.
2. Lloyd's cap hit this year is $2.42M if they had cut him before last Sunday would have actually save the Skins a half Mil. this year![]()
Sure it would push $7.1M into the dead cap for 2008 but with Wynn and AA coming off the books it's almost a wash
If they didn't want him here he wouldn't be here and his contract is little more than a speed bump if the wanted to run him out of Redskin Park.
This was a few pages back in this thread and the numbers haven't changed so this is what they would have dealt with before week one.
At this point cutting him would mean taking the cap hit now and they don't have the space at this time but it's not impossible. Going into the off-season they can let him go and they'll be able to handle the dead cap with not real issues or they can do it as a post June 1st 2008 cut and only cost them $1.83M in 2008 and 5.33M in 2009.
I can't say he's save for 2007 but being a Redskin in 2008 doesn't look all that bright unless he steps up.
