i think we can live with our gaurds. the center bothers me. hell, if raymer would elevate his game, we wouldn't have a problem, imo.RagingRigginz wrote:cvillehog wrote:What about that guard from UVa, Elton Brown? I think he'd be a good O-Line pick-up.
That would be an awesome pick. Since I live an hour outside of Charlottesville I go to a ton of the UVA games. I've been watching him carefully the past couple years. He is an absolutely stunning run blocker, the best in the nation. His pass blocking skills are not quite on his ron blockin level, but still very solid. You'll be hardpressed to find a better all around guard in the draft.
Good idea for draft pick

Darnarian is a great #2 reciever who is franchise tagged this year. Dont forget we can give him or Rod up. Personally i would take Darnarian on his hands but Rod is a better practice guy. We also have a couple other guys given the time could be vital receivers. I think we should trade down and get say a later 1st round and a 2nd round and a player if we have a good spot in the 1st round. Just a thought. No players in mind.

Time heals all wounds .... and also would give Ramsey time to hit any WR in the field.

well, it all depends on where we end up picking. I'm guessing we will pick around 10th. I can't seem to find what draft picks we have anywhere so this is just pure guesswork.
I think with the 10th pick, we will trade down. 10th will be too late to get Williams anyway, and I wouldn't pick him with that pick anyway. We desperately need a Center. And we could really use Defensive Line. Particularly a great DE.
If our pick is low enough and there is a team with two 1st rounders, we trade with them if possible. If not, we can always go 1st and high 2nd.
We pick a DE with the 1st pick(should be plenty of good ones), and pick a center with the 2nd pick. Centers don't usually go 1st round anyway, unless they are really really good. We could also trade Gardner probably for a low 2nd rounder or a high to mid 3rd rounder.
That would give us an opening to take a WR, OLine or DLine.
I think we are pretty set with Dockery, Thomas and Jansen. I also have a feeling Samuels wants to stay and will restructure favorably. That leaves us with needing a Center.
We are ok at QB, RB, TE(tons of Gibbs type TEs available thru FA), LB, CB and safeties. Bowen and Lott will be back next season, and Clark is serviceable.
Really, we could get by with Coles, Thrash, McCants and Jacobs. But I think Joe adds a guy mid to late rounds, and brings in a low end(mebbe speedster) WR.
It's won in the trenches people. Line on both sides should be a priority...

Yep Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats what I am saying.
We knew or heard GW say "We blitz to cover up some of our deficiencies."
I am really curious to see what his ultimate goal is with our D.
We need Two more more dominant linemen beside Griffin.
