I figured it out....
It's our uniforms. We have not worn our Burgundy Jersey all year. Because we've worn our white jersy all year we are 4-8. If we would've had worn our burgundy jersey we'd be 8-4.
On a serious note, I was very happy to see our quarterback and our running back play with confidence. It's always good to have a win but regardless of how the rest of the season goes, I'm happy that our team hasn't stopped competing.

White is easier to see by a QB. Joe calls offensive plays. So, it is understandable that he prefers white.Jake wrote:Gibbs has always favored the white jerseys. We will wear red against Dallas.
It is often said that Henry Ford once responded to the question:
What colours will the model T come?
Every other colour, ... as long as it's black!
To me,
What colour do I prefer?
Every other colour, ... as long as we win!
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Ahhhh.
Didn't know that when we played you, you'd be wearing RED Jerseys
That a third color?
(Before anyone calls me an idiot, I was just playing along sarcastically

When Gibbs took the team, Beathard and Gibbs changed the uniforms. See http://www.redskins.com/team/history-70.jsp
and look at the uniforms worn by the Graham/Lombardi/Allen/Pardee players. The shirts were darker -- burgundy -- and the pants were gold. They wore the same pants on the road or at home. Look at the picture of Larry Brown, for instance.
Gibbs and Beathard switched to more of a brighter hue and dropped the gold pants.
Since all teams chose their team colors -- dark blue for the Bears, for instance -- for home games, Gibbs decided to wear the white shots / dark red pants every game. He thought that it gave the QB a slight advantage in picking out his receivers.
Jimmy Johnson thought it over, agreed with Gibbs, and chose white.

How do you know we'll wear red against Dallas?
Umm... we wear them IN Dallas EVERY year.

Did you just call Jimmy a Gibbs follower?welch wrote:When Gibbs took the team, Beathard and Gibbs changed the uniforms. See http://www.redskins.com/team/history-70.jsp

No. Wrong. The Skins and Gibbs were NOT the originators of the "wear white at home" scheme. Go look at tapes of the Cowboys in Texas Stadium and even the Cotton Bowl back in the 60's and 70's. Notice the color of the Cowboys' jerseys. They've ALWAYS been that way.
Jimmy didn't innovate the white jersey in Dallas. He just kept it. And every coach since Landry has followed suit.
