QB's To Draft
Who's availible? Who are we looking at? Looks like we'll have a top ten pick.

You can put any QB in this scheme and it just want work out for them.
We have a QB and his cannon needs adjusting. I think Pat would work out, if we were to apply a scheme to a scheme to his abilities.

With the plays being called, the Redskins have to be absolutely perfect for 15 straight plays to have a chance to score a touchdown. That is not a realistic expectation for any offense, including Indianapolis, Philly, KC, etc.
Well said.

these are the top QBs in college right now (sorry if I left anyone out) but none of those guys are exceptionally better than Ramsey, if at all, no need to draft a QB just yet unless one of those guys is available later in the draft.

What if we were to draft one of these guys and they did the same exact things that our two Qbs have done thus far?

Jason White seems to play smart, is M. Vick's little bro suppossed to enter the draft? Has he even played? Wouldn't mind seeing Brees come in. I hope PRam does well but he's not a rookie anymore he should be better by now...i.e that pass to mccants overthrown, the sloppy innaccurate screens, and the delay of games etc... I don't buy the crowd noise excuse, this is the nfl good teams overcome the variables and win big games. If we dont draft a QB maybe its time to look at WR Coles and WR Gardener, I mean at this point its like...Leslie Shepard Michael Westbrook anyone? Thats about the production those guys are generating. At this point I'd be happy with Henry Ellard type production! Let's offer Coles, Rod, and a pick for R. MOSS and let him play with Thrash McCants and Jacobs.

For Ramsey's first start in over a year he WAS impressive. This "get a new QB topic" is non-negotiable...Patrick is a core Skin, he won't be leaving DC anytime soon, so get used to him. Tonight's game does NOT fall on Pat's shoulders, this is a team sport and the team lost it for themselves. This isn't the Washington Ramsey's this is the Washington Redskins.

If Ramsey finishes the season, I would think we'd have to cut Brunell, why keep him or his contract? We'll never re-coup the 8million bonus but theres no reason to keep him just for financial reasons, this division is too competitive at least against each other and we need a good backup if PRam gets another term.

The cap hit would be $7 million worth of dead money if we cut him at the end of the year

You didnt mention probably the best QB that will be available in next years draft. Dan Orlovsky out of UCONN is next years Ben Roethlisberger. I still think Ramsey can be successful but just not in Washington. Everyone has already made up their mind. Obviously Gibbs doesnt trust him to throw deep and a lot of skins fans dont believe in him. Im one who thinks Ramsey should of started after week 2 because brunell doesnt give the O anything. The skins really do need to consider taking a qb in this yrs draft. Maybe a mobile qb in Brad Smith from Mizzou if he enters the draft early.

We would still take the Cap hit in the year of the trade.
There's a thread around here about going back in time. Thats the only way we could trade him

Did it hit Mcants hands yes, both of them he should have had it. That was not Ramsey's fault that was Mcants. It was also Ramsey first start in over a year against a NFC power house. How about all the drop passes by the recievers aka Portis. In accurate screens Betts had like 60 or 70 yds off screens (were you even watching the game). This was not Ramsey's fault at all. Really this is his 17th start meaning second year. Manning wasn't even that good after his second year, same with Favre. Look how long it took Drew to get this good. Qb's take 3 or 4 years to get good.

here here! brees is actually the perfect example of why we need to stick with ramsey instead of go after brees, ironically enough. ramsey's in his 2nd year in terms of total game experience, and has never had a coach that could teach him how to read an NFL defense until now.
surely ramsey is or will be at least as good a QB as schroeder, humphries, even rypien and theismann- there is no question he's more physically gifted than any of them, and i think it's way too premature to judge his mental development, for the reasons stated above. ramsey is not the problem.
the problem is the crappy plays and the crappy play-calling, and the crappy OL. the drops are definitely a problem but somehow i see them as being more of a symptom of the other problems- because the plays and OL are so bad (and brunell was so bad) they haven't gotten in any rhythm. i believe in our WRs (except gardner, he's too inconsistent and we should trade him). coles is a top 5 WR in the league when healthy, but he's playing on a busted toe and finger, so he can't run and he can't catch.
i have a feeling they'll start making more catches once the passing game starts using a less archaic system.
