Backup QB?
Who do you want at backup QB? I want Tim Hasselbeck.

Tim Couch
Did anyone see Sean Salsbury at halftime of MNF on ESPN ??? He said Brunell is DONE and that he has never seen a QB fall that far, that fast in his life. The man has no confidence like a pitcher afraid to throw over the plate.

Tim's been waiting in the wings long enough and his performance last season was worthy of some praise. Gibbs has named Brunell the backup. How much of this is due to not wanting to send the guy to the trash heap is uncertain. Still, they paid a lot of money for Brunell so they might want to try and get *something* out of him.
For his part, I think Ramsey is handling the whole thing gracefully.

Brunell. For all the success Timmy hand under spurrier and in the pre-season, he is too green in Joe's system and is less prepared than Ramsey to be able to fill in adequately. You forget, Brunell was a few plays away from leading this team to a 5-3 record. Timmy might have been able to make those plays, but that's a stretch.
Back and better than ever!

Welcome to our board PJIS. I very much doubt that you will get a tumultuous (and chauvinistic) welcome as ramseychic.PJIS wrote:Tim's been waiting in the wings long enough and his performance last season was worthy of some praise. Tim should be the back-up.

i voted for brunell. just for a change of pace. after the opposing team gets used to the gunslinging precision of ramsey, they'll have to adjust to a qb who is slow and can't hit his receivers. that'll really confuse the defense!
also, kurt warner should be available next year as a free agent......

At this time last year Mark Brunell was THIRD STRING in Jacksonville. Coach Del Rio had him behind Leftwich and Gerrard even though Brunell had fully recovered from his elbow injury.
Then...a couple months later...instead of RELEASING their expensive 3RD STRINGER they traded him to the Skins for a 3RD round draft pick. I bet they were pinching each other in Jacksonville.
So, that being said. Tim Hasselbeck should be Ramsey's back up and Brunell can go back to what he was doing last November and help coach the young QB's up.
$43 Million!!!

burp.
Ok John Man I like you. You should post more often. I say we drop Brunnel like the dead weight that he is and we go pick up Hamdan to fill that thrid spot. Let him and Hasselbeck duke it out in practice for back up position. I really think Hamdan has some potential but if we keep letting him go some one else will eventually notice and pick him up.
